Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Puppies do make the time flow bye and our "A" litter is already 4,5 months old. So it was about time one of them gets his first chance in the show ring. I was very happy to be able to show M'Eudail Ars today for his new owner Miss Ajda Slavec. This being a strangley obedient litter (somehow not the kind of setters I usually breed), he actually behaved throughout the whole thing - ran with all 4 on the ground, did not chew on his leash and managed to look good. I was very pleased he got a "very promising" from judge Mr Paul Stanton from Sweden with a more than flattering description and his comment "very very very promising baby". Ars really seemed to enjoy the whole thing and all the new friends he met, had a good sleep and in the afternoon again behaved well enough to get 3rd place in the Baby BIS. He carried his rosette out of the ring like his father and grandmother always do. On Monday he will start his obedience training in our club together with his brother and sister and some lovely Viszla, Gordon setter and German Pointer friends. More fun on the horizon.......

We were supposed to have an Irish judge on Sunday, but she cancelled in the last moment, so dogs were assigned to other judges there. Apparently Mr Stanton was the only one who could judge Group VII. Except for our Ars there were completely different dogs entered on Sunday, so it was OK. But they all got a very good I was told, so no setter (irish or Gordon) was in the Group.

I am sure the owners will let him come to some more shows. They have never attended a dog show before and were of course thrilled their baby did so well. Hope I'll get around to showing my own baby boy Apollo soon.

All the three on the podium looks so sweetheart little babes :-)
Never is too early to start a show career, especially when it is done in style :-)
Congrats, Alenka!
