Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Born in 1976, Piper was a daughter of Suntop Summerthrush (Imp.UK). Bred from a blue sire and an orange dam, she was a beautiful tri colour. Most of the English Setters bred at Amhurst have been blue and tri colour beltons. When her puppies were newly born, Piper was happy to share the whelping box with my first Irish Setter, Tara. One would feed and the other would clean! A wonderful demonstration of trust, which my Setters have always displayed.

I thought she looked very english! and reminds me of photographs of Suntops I have seen.
Not many around of that type in Australia today I assume?

Suntop Shining Ben was one of the influential sires here in Hungary. Don't remember having seen him "live" but he looks beautiful on photos.

Suntop Shining Ben was the litter brother to one of our Suntop imported bitches. I know he did very well for the breed in Hungary, and I was in touch with the people he went to. I have a picture of him which was on the front cover of one of your magazines.

No, it is a photograph from many years ago. Will have to find it, but on the top I think it says "Katya."
Margaret Barnes actually sent it out to me, but it really is very long ago. I will have a look for it.

Suntop were always the best 'English' in the 70's
I had an Akita that was willing to share her litter with one of my mongrels I agree that is trust I also had an Irish that would have killed any other dog that went near her 'nest' didn't mater about the puppies but she would guard her nest against all comers....Nice pictures Myra and a Happy New Year to you and yours
