About Me:
Absolutely dedicated to the breed, along with English Setters.
Born in England, I moved to Australia as a child, and in my teens started importing Irish Setters from Wendover Kennels, and English Setters from Suntop Kennels. My latest Irish imports in 2004, 2009 and another in 2013 are all from the beautiful Copper's Kennel in Sweden.
I am a qualified Championship Judge for All Gundogs and the Non Sporting Group, and an Open Show Judge for all Toys, Terriers and Hounds.
My judging takes me all over the world, something I enjoy immensely.

Posted on December 3, 2016 at 9:52pm 11 Comments

We so want them to be immortal, but sadly it doesn't happen, and before we know it, the years have flown by. Saying goodbye to two huge personalities in our lives, so special, and so special to all who met them, Aust Ch. Amhurst Prinsessan Aniara on 25th October and her sire, Aust Ch. Copper's Prins Trollmane (Imp Sweden) on 25th November. We three had so many wonderful times over the twelve and thirteen and a half years. Bless you both. No more Nomie hugs, and you hadn't been hugged until…

At this time of the year in Australia, photos have to be taken at first light, before the heat and before the light becomes too harsh. FOUR WEEKS OLD TODAY AND WHAT AN ANGEL

Posted on January 30, 2015 at 3:15am 6 Comments

I have called Ballad's baby girl, JURNI, because it has been a long one to get her!!

At four weeks already, she is now starting to meet the older Irish, and they are all very gentle and caring towards her. Aniara, in particular, is smitten with Jurni - maybe because she well remembers that over ten years ago, she too was an only puppy for Bria.  We have a very happy family of Irish here at Amhurst. They all love each other and it is good for the soul to enjoy them all.…

Guess you mean the big one on the main page - we used a fishing rod with a piece of cloth dangling. Mind you, neither looks all that interested, but at least they sat still!!
