December beach holidays...

Not for the first time and definitely not the last, we spent a week's holiday on the beautiful island Texel, NL.

Snow and storms caused havoc in all the countries around us whilst we enjoyed a very relaxing holiday, walking for hours on the beaches, in the dunes and heather of Texel with Glen.

We were so lucky to experience Texel in snow & sunshine, ok also one misty day... but who cares?

Comment by Susan Stone on December 17, 2010 at 2:02am: It was really beautiful and for us living in Switzerland it is such luxury to be able to go for long walks on the beach and let dogs run until they are exhausted. This time of year the only people out are fellow dogwalkers and nature lovers - and all end the day in one of the strandpaal cafés drinking coffee and eating chocolate cake! Dogs welcome and they always get a bowl of water:-))

Carmen, I am sure Bretagne will be fantastic! I think their crêpes may be even better than the Pannenkoeken:-)) Dee: 14'000 Texel sheep on the island...

Catherine: Yes, a lovely island, not that far from your part of the world...

We already visit Texel some year ago, but in Summer and we loved to be there. A place for nature lovers.
