Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Last year I missed Crufts - some may remember my blog about the photo of Glen and Beckett being used by the KC for their stand. This year Glen and I were at Crufts and a week later we went to the KC's training weekend for pointing breeds at Reeth. We had a great time!

This year I finally got to see the Kennel Club's stand with my own eyes - it is fantastic! And of course I took the oportunity of taking Glen's picture in front of his own larger than life photograph.

During the day it was good to meet up with old and new friends, thanks for coming and saying hello!

Our next event was 'moor' to Glen's liking:

I'd decided that these KC training days at Reeth would be Glen's final chance to try for his 'Working Gundog Certificate' - he had messed up his chances last year and with youngster Annie waiting in the wings, it was now or never!

We had two great training days with a good number of grouse on the moors. In the end, two Irish Setters were awarded their Gundog Working Certificate: Anlory Goldfinger 'Flynn' and my Glen, Int Ch Coppersheen Coalville Lad. I(interestingly, Glen's sire 'Anlory Muscavado' is Flynn's grandsire).

Little Annie, aged 7 months, was given a run at the end of the day - and she took to the heather like a fish to water! Exciting times lie ahead of us...

We were extremely lucky that the training weekend could be held. Next day the snow came down and Britain came to a standstil! The spring Setter & Pointer trials near Blanchland were cancelled due to all the snow.

We will be back!

Congratulations to both award winning Irish Setters and their owners. Amazing photographs Susan, it's fabulous to see the dogs working. Well done indeed.
