Summertime!

Now it is early summer here with all the bugs and the spring flowers bloom. Exhibition season is upon us and
13 june is time for the premiere entry in official dogshow for this summer for our dogs Arthur, Enya and Settra.
In august, I have been invited to a kennel meet with one of my dogs to test bird hunting. I have accepted the invitation and Arthur is the dog I am attend to test in hunting. He is curious and completely fearless and and good breeding that is worth testing.
Here in Sweden it is much talk that the Irish Setter is split and the show lines are completely destroyed. I want to profe the opposite by going hunting test with Arthur and Enya.
I have also started looking for a suitable male to Enya and Donna. Since I have my lines and the type of dog I have begun to look at if there is time to outbreed my genetic base without losing the type.
I am disappointed in many of our Swedish breeders who follow today's fashion and using the same males on their dogs without thinking of the genetic base.
This is an exciting journey and I have found an exciting male in Norway amazingly enough, that looks good and have the characteristics I want in an Irish setter. The male has both the body and are also aptitude test. So now I have to research further in the dogs pedigree. I will search until I find the ultimate male to my bitches. We have some puppieplans this summer for one of our adult bitches.
