In December, we had wonderful snow - so Joy and I went out to have some fun and I brought the camera with. It all started with a harmless walk through the forest and Joy's long gazes into a small nature reserve, where often deer graze and herons fish in a small pond:

I took photos also of this little hut, a favourite photo motive of ours throughout the year:

But Joy wanted to have a good run on 'her' field and so while looking through the camera, she ran off and I felt this enormous pull on my wrist, when she reached the end of the 12 meter long line. I kept my stand and managed to hinder that the quite new camera fell into the snow and thought the pain on my wrist came only from the line. Only on Monday morning, when I could not find my watch, did I realize that the metal strap must have torn then and the watch fallen into the quite deep snow. But I'm used to my rascal, so I first made my photo and then we went to the field. Bye, bye Joyful:

That morning, I also took some special food with and trained the 'emergency recall'; I thought of taking some photos of her, when she comes running back in a straight line. The first photo was taken like this and the following also - hello again:

This bench is a bit cold to sit down but who needs rest anyway - at least not Joy:

Fot those who now wondered what happened to my watch: I went looking for it several times and the place must have looked as if the wild boars have gone through after a while! A fortnight later, when the snow melted, I thought of going back again - and there it was! It 'survived' snow, rain and minus temperatures and did not loose a second! It just 'counted' the hours until I came back looking for it. With this little story, I want to wish you best of luck and a Happy New Year! Or maybe better: A Joyful New Year!
