(Ruby at 4 months)

In the middle of the night…at 2am Ruby jumps off the bed and starts barking and growling (scared) into half closed door of the bedroom. Then she jumps back on the (save) bed and barks from there into the door.

Oops. What now? Myself and Gloria (one of my daughters) were home alone. ….burglars?
Dog feels if something is wrong…and a hound dog has a special good nose for this.
I turned on my mobile phone so that I’ll be able to call the police immediately, if I ran into burglars. I woke up Gloria and we went into action. Ruby was right behind us. Not in front of us. We turned the lights on in the whole house….nothing strange. We opened a terrace so if missy would like to go pee & poop. But she wouldn’t. of course not, it is dark outside!! She didn’t even put her snout out.
So we turned the lights off and went to bed. Ruby came 2 minutes after us. It was immediately clear to me that puddle and a “heap of surprise”.

Silly girl. She didn’t want to go pee in the dark on the other side of the house.
And she was afraid of doors into bedroom. Cause they were weirdly half-open.

Moral: when I grow up, I’m going to be a guard. (Ruby)
