Well everyone will be delighted to hear that since the advent of Byron Braemar is going from strength to strength (or should that be Bowl to Bowl) He still looks like he is trying to audition for the RSPCA before photo but the Vet assures me that given another couple of months he will be right back on target.
The two have become inseparable and are great fun even when destroying Mobile/house phones and TV remotes (What is it that dogs love so much about remotes)
Whilst preparing a meal last week Byron was left to his own devices whereby he took it upon himself to phone my wife and treat her to 3 minutes of crunching until surprisingly the line went dead.
They have both perfected the archetypical "Kevin" stroppy walk that all our setters have had and show so much affection it is painfull, no seriously those teeth are sharp! anyway thankyou for all the support and will keep everyone posted.

It is nice up there Tariff is a very nice area, I used to own a little bit of the Buckley Estate, only a couple of acres up there, but had a croft in a place called Bindle, (not Bondie which is near to you) that had about 14 acres but the dogs weren't aloud to roam around the place, it was full of sheep etc, so they only had the yard around the house, but we did have the forest near Deer Abbey, we now walk in the forest called Blared lovely walks, but a lot of other people and horses etc, my kids love to play with these things..a wee bit embarosing...Dee and the gang

I think that I am jealous of your rides/walks..I miss my horses, well ponies. and I also miss having land of my own, where I could walk. (I have just noticed that the darned spell check has changed the place that I used to live.... it was Boyndlie...you must have wondered where Bindle was whatever a Bindle is) Having got the three to walk I take them to the Forest and there are some beautiful walks..but the 'kids' aren't very good with horses and I dread meeting them.
Will speak later all the best Dee and the gang

Sorry sorry John, I know too well the horrible misery at loosing one oldy, as it happened to me last year in May. sorry, I didn't wish to revive painful memories. You are so right to say that we never really own an Irish!!!! I am sure Tosca had the best life possible with you and indeed you were lucky to have him ...  :-)

Hi Chantal unfortunately no Cake for Braemar he is on a special diet...

We are all off to the Royal Edinburgh Veterinary Hospital for his Post Surgery check up tomorrow.

As you know his eating issues resulted in him not gaining weight and having projectile vomitting.

A month ago they opened him up only to find that his small intestine and stomach are 10 time the size they should be (They actually asked if we wanted to resuscitate, however as we know he has a normal life for 2 out of 3 weeks we did).

Anyway they amended his diet put him on meds and touching wood and crossing fingers he is doing incredibly  well.

He is on Purina HA and he loves it :>)
