Yes that storm was incredible! I drove down to the shops on the Saturday and my car moved from side to side :-) But we've had really beautiful and sunny weather since Sunday. Is it the same with you? Hope you and your family are keeping well. I enjoyed looking through your recent photographs :-)

Hi there Deborah.
How is your English now??? hope she is OK, Saffy did have Ultra sound that is what makes it all the more annoying, for my sins I took her to the Gundog Breeds yesterday and she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
My daughter was doing research into bloat.........
American research said that if you feed off the ground you had a higher percentage chance of getting bloat, it went on to say that this statistic may be that only people who are suspecting that their dogs may blow feed OFF the ground, I have been feeding on the ground ever since, it is up to the individual to do as they want, a dilemma!!!

Glad to hear she is OK, the incontinence is part of spaying, this is one thing the vets don't tell you about!!! and there are a few others, the coat is another, have you tried a King Comb dragged slowly through the coat, it takes most of the 'fluff' out, but you must be careful, how old is she now if she is over 5-6 have you thought of trying a 'mature' feed for her, I have found that you can feed more but not have the same weight gain, and yes it is a Setter thing, I think, can't get in the car, but can 'nick' stuff of the side. As far as the feeding regime is concerned you have to go with what your gut says.....(weigh up the prows and cons and make your own mind up).

Hi Deborah,
Thank you very much for your comment on my photograph and also the post you left! I've been so busy recently I've not been able to answer everything yet :-) How is your little girl? Is the throat infection gone?
It's great you've managed the recall with Barley. It can take such a long time with setters! Hope you are all well.

Hi there Deborah
Who did you use??? Have you got homes for yours yet??? Haven't heard from you for a long time. Probably like me a little bit busy...Will you be keeping anything from your litter?? I only put in an order for 8 puppies, 4 boys and 4 girls, these bitches just won't listen will they, we are now over the time that they can be born, ie tomorrow will be day 57 so I can now relax. Jas lost hers at 6&7 weeks I have been worried all the way through that Saffy is going to do the same, first I worried that she wasn't pregnant, now I am worried as to how many, well I can't be happy unless I am worrying, it seems..Oh well next is the birth, then the raising. All the best Dee and the girls

Don't know why everyone wants a girl, got an inquiry yesterday ''for a girl''' but will never count my chickens before they are hatched, If I counted including mine. (If I said that every inquiry was a definite, and I have had too many puppies to think that this was fact) I have got 4 spoken for, BUT, 3 girls and 1 boy...ah well the puppies don't come out like that, or at least not in those numbers, I tried to get this person to take a dog instead, but no, they sound like good caring people. So fingers crossed that they get back to me....
I know about long labours, personally myself, but with the dogs as well. My Akita had one and then decided that she wasn't going to have any more where I wanted her to, and just stopped 41/2 hours later I took her to the vet, got an Oxitosin (?) injection and she had one in the car going home and another just after getting home. and me I learned that to let her have them where she wanted to, I had to pull Saffy out from under the bed last night, now that I definitely draw the line there...too cramped...Ah well only another 6 days now...
Speak soon Dee and the girls...

Next door my neighbour does drives and hes kept busy for months luckily. But my husband being on expensive cars nothing doing.some of the smaller garages are getting a little extra work now that the scap deal is on .Ive know a couple of friends take advantage of this but that wont work for everyone.
