Hello Deborah

I have just recently joined this site & geting used to it all. Just thought I would send my best wishes after seeing that Jinny had bloat. I hope she is recovering well I remember vividly the fear & upset I felt when one of my girls suffered the same. We were lucky it was caught very early & she made a complete recovery after a few scary moments. I am always on the alert for bloat & take all the precautions that I can. I don't feed for two hours after exercise & restrict the intake of water to just a few laps immediately after exercise. After feeding I always leave at least two hours before exercise & prefer it to be three - just incase! We have been lucky & Millie never had another episode - she lived to be eleven & broken my heart when she went. Hattie my present girl takes all the precautions & I watch her like a hawk - but we live for the moment & enjoy every day!!
Best wishes to you all.

Lesley & Hattie

Deborah,Hope Jinney is now on the mend. If it were me i would take the dogs out for exercise before giving them breakfast.I do not think that even 2 hours before exercise is enough.I would think that there was less harm in giving food after the exercise I usually advise my puppy owners not to feed before exercise but after.

Hi there Deborah
That is a tricky one, to let of or not...I have been there many times, will she stay close or will she just run and run???if that is the case I should build her up before allowing her to do that, but if she will stay close then go ahead for a short time only. You can be the only one that will know how she will behave....Best of luck.
Did you manage to get any Arnica 30..it really does help with the healing process. Glad that she is doing so well, they really do bounce back well. Still thinking of you all Dee and the gang

Hi there Deborah
Probably very wise to keep her as quiet as passable, but you have got to take the plunge and risk her for a proper walk, I know where you are coming from because I have been like this a few times with my girls, only you will know when you both are ready. As I have said before..............Good luck and hope all goes well, do keep us up to date as to how she and you are going.
Dee and the gang
ps if you get the Arnica, you can give it to her you or anyone else when there is trauma either a bang or an operation etc, very good for any kind of damage...

Hi just read your message. my comp went to be repaired so ive been a bit stuck. i did use glens when i could. How is you dog now after the bloat .I did ask the vet about walks and he said what i was doing was ok. i tend to be on facebook a lot can you hook up to me there also.I had cory, willow and the cats vaccinated the week before. Then last week a staffie attacked lisa and cory so i rushed cory to the vets and he had a antibiotic jab.

Hi there Deborah
As for letting her off the lead you are always, from now on, going to worry, there is nothing that will stop you, but you just have got to let the dog have a life, that is the thing, quality of life, you could wrap her in cotton wool and she would be miserable, so just go for it, I know that I would feel the same as you...as for the eating thing, try and find the research that says about up or down, (US), down is a natural way, when they kill something it is in the animal, but not served up on a table, and the research says that you are more likely to GET bloat feeding off the ground, I found that my bitch took in much more air when fed off the ground, than when she was fed on the floor, but it is personal. I 'personally' feed on the ground, but there are many out there that feed off...ah dilemmas
But so so glad that she is happy and OK again, keep up the good work, all the best Dee and the gang

Hi sorry about delay only just seen your comment today even though i must go on the sight loads. Millie is doing very well she is into everything especially paper which she shreads. Everytime we go walking she makes me smile as she is so happy and just runs round and round. Millie is also becoming quite a guard dog barking at people coming to the house although she doesn't get off the sofa to doit ifs shes a bit tired.
Hope you have a great Christmas we will have to meet up in the new year and compare puppies.

Hi there Deborah
What a naughty girl..only luck that Fin hasn't done the same. I cage him when I am out of the house, I just wouldn't trust him. Will you be showing her??? and if yes will you be at Midlands Ch Show next weekend?? We will be at our first show then. Not sure how he will take the journey down.
Speak soon Dee and the gang

Hi there Deborah
Thanks for the comment on Fin, he has his first show on Saturday, going to be the entertainment for the day, he definitely isn't a shrinking wallflower, he is very outgoing, I know what you mean Fin is the way that a show dog should be, perhaps she will come-out of herself later in life, then you can go and wow them when you bring a smashing dog out in maturity.. Seen it done many times...
Speak soon Dee and the girls...
ps thank the lord for cages they are a wonderful piece of 'doggy' equipment..;o))

hi glad your knee is improving ive not been back the docs to see about my results. the weather has been aweful and ive had to take ash to work a lot of the time and collect him .Sometimes my husband has collected him . Then walking cory and just everything fitting it in. I havent been to many any shows as we were snowed in. then also on top o that the car was also being repaired so that stopped me a show and others cancelled.
I didnt get my paperwork for mis so couldnt enter that. My isbc paperwork also went astray .
