Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

I think it may be time. Lucy, 14, has breast cancer. The lump is fairly large and has numerous openings. Vet says she's too old for treatment which I wouldn't do. Drinking lots of water-too much. Panting a lot-sign of pain? Not really interested in anything and looks sad to me. Blind and deaf. She had trouble getting up off the tiled floor this morning. This is so hard. Eating ok-giving her wet food. Anyone with a similar experience?

So sorry to read of your loss Claire. 14 is such a good age and such a lot of love must have been packed into that time. It does get easier over time, but she will always be there in your heart, a spiritual presence if not a physical one.

We've gone through this so many times now, and each one is missed deeply.

Thinking of you....

So sorry for you...you had to make the hardest decision.....treasure all your memories.....thinking of you xxxxx

Thank you everyone. Missing Lucy so much. Not the same in house-weird. Heartbroken

I am so sorry. It is never easy to say the final good bye. Thinking of you.

The best thing now would be for you to get another dog to share your life, circumstances permitting.

Would love to. But am only doing a Setter , Red , babysitting service

It's a week ago today... House empty without Lucy. Still talking to her and still not leaving food out on work tops. Anybody know of an IS that needs a new home? Thank you to all for your kind comments x
