Chemical Castration

Hi, I am very interested in the idea of chemical castration for many reasons and just wanted to know who has had any experience of this with their dogs and what the pros and cons may be. Its pointless talking to my vets (which I have tried) as they just lecture me on the fact that I should get reuben castrated!!!
