Going on holiday ....... Would you take the crate?

This may seem a simple question, we are going on holiday and I am wondering should I take Murphy's crate? Do you think it would help him settle down ..... Or should I leave it behind maybe just taking his quilt from it? We have a touring (v small) caravan and dont take the crate but this is different ...... In the caravan he finds a spot and settles down for the night he may do this in the lodge too ......

Your advice and experiences greatly appreciated!

Yes kinda swaying that way myself ..... He is fab here but it folds down and as you say may even just give me peace of mind! Else I can imagine a certain setter cuddled in between us and problems when we get home .....

Thanks
Thanks Ladies .........

Definitly take the crate - it will be his familiar comfort zone. Also if you go out to eat you can safely leave him in the crate and all will be well on your return. Works very well for us
Have to admit we didnt take his crate ...... But it worked out well apart from being unable to leave him behind if we fancied a meal out but again that worked out well as the weather was glorious and we had a barbie and seen no reason to eat any where other than the balcony ..... Murphy was completely spoiled and loved the lodge and no damage done! (except the loo roll from the ensuite was like the andrex advert and he was so proud of himself!) Hurrah..... The first night we took him to the bedroom with us and he immediately jumped up on the bed but then about turned and went to the floor, thats wher he slept for the duration..... In the middle of one night I was woken by him coming around the side of the bed and licking my face and wagging his tail off the wall..... Interestingly one of the first things he did when we got home was go to bed, not for long as the kids missed him so much when he was away he got lots of attention! Great place for dogs too, we all enjoyed it! As you will all know Irish Setters get attention everywhere they go so I think I can safely say its a paws up from Murphy for Flowery Dell!
