Hi,
dan and I are taking ollie to our friends in Stoke in April and it's his first long journey in the car since we brought him home from dee at 8 weeks old. He's done short car journeys but once he threw up (lots of stop
start) and since then he hasn't been the greatest fan. He stands up in his crate the whole time like a wally and doesn't lay down. We will of course stop frequently for both him and us but given that it's a four hour journey and he's not done more than half hour since he was a baby just wonder if people have any tips or advice for a good journey?

Sealegs tablets are best....given the night before you travel.....

I was just going to suggest sealegs if you have them over your way, ..good luck and have a great holiday with Ollie

If possible to run the dog a bit before leaving.  I find my dog is very unsettled everyday in the car if in there for more than 30 minutes.  He also won't lay down and relax till he gets to our destination.  Once he has had is playtime though, he sleeps for the ride back.  So maybe if your dog were exhausted, he will sleep for the trip.
short trips before you undertake your long journey. It does help. Last IS used to get car sick and when she went in the van to the kennels they used to put her at the back so she could see out. It is a hard one and do whatever you think will help your IS. Our Molly now just sits down in the back where the other one that got sick used to stand up and this dangerous unless you have a cage or harness. Good luck
