When Scout became ill I put in a doggy door as he could not be left outside and it made it easier to train Hawk. When no one was home he followed the girls around and I only had a few accidents. Hawk sleeps all night I never had to take him out at...
Oh you were lucky to be that close. They also offered for us to come back up once the lad has his feathering so they can teach me to groom him myself if I wanted to save money on that expense. I think it would be fun to take him back there for tha...
Six hours is far. I am lucky Scout and Hawk's breeder is one hour. I saw Hawk several times before he came home. The first time at two weeks, he was the first puppy I held and should of known then he would come home with me. I try to take Hawk ove...
So glad to hear you have found someone you trust for another puppy. Can not wait to see pictures and to hear about the new boy. Are you able to go and see the puppy until he comes home?
Susan, we just lost our 7 year old female this week. We had to put her down due to a back problem. She had arthritis and it was pressing on a disc. She was in constant agony. We are heartbroken. My previous setter just dropped dead after being nut...
Hi Susan, just picked up your awful news. I am so so sorry. I lost my Setter, Zeus, back in July - 10 yrs old. He too was such a terrific companion. The fact that Dublin was only two yrs old is tragic. Life seems so unfair at times doesn't it? I t...
I am a retail merchandiser and worked in the premium dog food market for many years. I adored my dog Dublin, he was 2, and I was thrilled to find an active setter forum. Married, two kids. Dublin has several videos at youtube.
Just search Dublin Irish Setter to find them if you would like to view. Sadly we let Dublin go November 2009. He was an epi dog and the medications used to control the seizures caused too much damage to him.

Hi Susan,
I have just read your update on Dublin....don't give up on him yet....I am thinking of you... has Michelle been in touch with you, I told her about Dublin and she has experiences she can share with you.Kindest regards and hugs from my dogs to you, Dublin and your family.
oh dear susan i am so very very sorry about dublin.hope he can manage the medication ok and they will eventually subside.i can fully understand how you must be feeling these red darlings come into our lives and completely take over our hearts. taers will flow love they still do in our house after 3 years and the upsetting part about your dublin and my layla is that they are only young dogs and "it shouldnt be happening to them"
hope you dont mind if i keep in touch every few weeks to see how you are both doing
love and regards
