Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Ok everyone I have a question, as you all know we live in the South west of France in a rather rural part of the country and unfortunately I really cant be let off my lead for super long runs because of the law of the land but I do enjoy long walks each day with my mum & dad, I also spayed in May as my vet said I had a womb infection and my mum and dad have asked and got some really good advice on my coat, now I would like to ask any of you for a little more advice and that is about my mobility for three or four days now I have had some movement problems its more difficult to run up and down the stairs, and to jump up onto the sofa,,does anyone know where I am coming from? I can still the chase the local cat out of my garden, but I do tend to sleep a lot more since the op, I dont want to worry my mum and dad to much so I thought I might just ask you all for your advice, by the way I will be 6 in February,
I look forward to hearing your thoughts, I eat well and drink plenty, there is also no pain or discomfort when my mum or dad squeezes my legs or back, maybe I am just getting a bit old.
Thank you all for your advice
lots of love

Hi Tiffany, it certainly sounds as if you're just not yourself at the moment. I would ask your mummy to take you along to the Vet for his opinion. Maybe you need some bloods checked just to make sure all is well. One of mine was found to have an underactive thyroid when she displayed symptoms like yours.
Hopefully the doggy doctor will be able to make you better very soon. Lots of love from Rory's mummy.

Hi Tiffany, the SW. of France must be lovely. I wouldn't expect your surgery to be a problem now after so much time but if the problem persists to a wk-wk and a half, a trip to the doc might be warranted. I wouldn't expect it an age thing yet, ( now if you were as old as I am- yikes ) Anyway, back in 2002, my Mickey came up lame and it turned out to be that 'osteo not good thing' but you still got your appetite so that good. I don't want to scare you other than don't wait to long if problem persists. Keba and Rooker send 'sniffs and wags '. Good luck
A trip to the vet indeed. However, this sounds quite familiar. Krill oil and digestive enzymes from the same place I got mine from !!!! Really. Take a look at the messages I have posted up about my girl. She very nearly became immobilized. I would do this in addition to tests from the vet. I am becoming more and more amazed by the day as to how a lack of enzymes was affecting my girl. She had even become incontinent and had to take Propalyn. According to the vets and everyone I spoke to, this was because she is a spayed bitch and incontinence is just one of those things. She is even off Propalyn now AND YET her blood test results were supposed to have been normal. Nothing abnormal with her pancreas. Didn't need enzymes according to the vets :-/
