About Me:
I have 2 Setter Girls, one English & one Irish. They are both aged 6yrs. I am married with 3 children, grown up now. I am Australian and live in Melbourne. I have loved Irish & English Setters for more than 20 years and now have one of each which are both an absolute joy to own. We got them both as baby puppies together. They are best friends and are always looking out for each other. We belong to a local obedience club where the girls have done well. Tess, my Irish, continues to go to school each Sunday.

Hello Lyn , setters and lady cat.
Thank you for your message, still not ready to write...
I am OK, when I have a day off I usually go sightseeing and take pictures of lovely English countryside in spring.

Thanks Lynn for your nice comments about our new boy. Hopefully he won't be too wild!! I think setters are happier in (at least) twos :-)
I'm glad it's a bit cooler in your part of the world after such a hot summer; it must be a relief.
All the best and lots of hugs to your girls!
  • Dee Rance

    Hi there Lynn.
I hope that I didn't say anywhere that she looks Scruffy..because I have one that looks like that all the time, but Jas's coat isn't quite so long, she has the dreadlocks and the curls but she looks like yours all the time..except when she is at a show, then (with a lot of work) she has a fairly straight coat. But it does take a lot of hard work
I have been pulled up, and told off, before on this site, they said that I was being facetious, about a dogs coat. I am not, so if you have taken offence at this, I am sorry, I didn't mean it that way, having a dog with a curly coat I know how difficult it can be to get it straight...
All the best Dee and the girls

    Hi Lynn,
Thanks for stopping by & saying hi. Have had both girls with mammary tumours within 6 months of each other. The younger one has a bad pathology report but I';m hoping we have taken all the nasties away. She gets her stitches out tomorrow & thanks God so far so good considering she has a shunt in her liver & anaethetics are not a good thing for her. Hope all is well with you & not too cold. We have the fire on here & both girls are very comfortable. Lots of hugs & cuddles to the kids.

    Love Di

    Hi Lynn,
I'm glad you like my girls. Yours are lovely and they do look such good pals too. Your Megg in the first photograph has an expression like our Bridget. She sometimes looks up all demure. We call it her "Princess Diana" look.
    Best wishes to you all,
    Ruth

I am in London now and thinking about a new camera.
I fell in love with Lonodn' s parks.
Unfortunately I can't see any setters here. What is very interesting for me, there are a lot of rescue dogs.
Cats are huge and I miss Mr Floyd, lovely and very funny burmese cat.

Rufus was bred by Sally Underwood--actually her partner--Lynton--they come from Moama. I chose her puppy because I loved the pictures of Rufus' Dad and Mum.
  • Drago and Beata

    Wow, super dogs!
  • Laura Kolbach

hello Lynn, thanks for the congrats. i was soooo nervous that i had pain everywhere in my body. like it was my first show ever... i am sure it was because i never heard of this judge before (wonder why i entered, hm, but it turned out good :-)) ). at the show, my friends with pointer and gordon did not do well, so when he started with the irish, i was a complete nerv wreck... he was very focused on movement and let us run run run run run run... i think this was our luck as Danka loves it much more than standing and moves with a wagging tail - a nice sight :-)
hope your girls won't get to stressed of the grooming - maybe a good opportunity to get new toys for them to make them forget the groooooming? :-)
    have a nice week, Lynn!

thanks again for your comments, Lynn. the girls are very happy, no matter if it is field or the river. still no idea which they prefer but i assume it is the river as it is very very warm by now here in hungary.

    Hi Lyn
Thanks for your lovely comments about my boy Spencer. He was a beautiful boy inside and out. Unfortunately he died tragically on the road when he was only 14 months old. That was over 3 years ago now. We still miss him!
  • Dee Rance

A bit like a beached whale at the moment, but hopefully good news soon thanks for the comment.

  • Cheryl Gorey

    Hi Lyn
Thanks for your kind words and consideration. These red dogs are so special it is so hard when we have to say goodbye, It's hard enough when we know they have lived a long full life, but when they are taken much younger it is a tragedy. Bloat is frightening. I wish we could breed it out of all the lines. You're right, we can move on and love our new special dogs, but we never forget our ones who have shared their lives with us, for whatever time it was.
    regards
    Cheryl

    Hi there Lynn
I am really proud of them, they are all doing so well at the moment, I am going to put more pictures on but don't want to get boring about it, don't want to put too many pictures all at once.
But I will definitely be putting more on a few at a time.
