I have 2 Setter Girls, one English & one Irish. They are both aged 6yrs. I am married with 3 children, grown up now. I am Australian and live in Melbourne. I have loved Irish & English Setters for more than 20 years and now have one of each which are both an absolute joy to own. We got them both as baby puppies together. They are best friends and are always looking out for each other. We belong to a local obedience club where the girls have done well. Tess, my Irish, continues to go to school each Sunday.
Hi Lynn, it's that ex worker poping in to say hello. Not a lot has happened since I was in touch last tine Ihave just taken a judging appointment for an agricultural show , all the gundog's& Schipperke's 1st time, looking forward to that (Luly)will let you know it went..What I am intrested in is how do you go on for show's? do you have to travel a lot of miles to get to one or do you have small open one's in diferent district's near where you live??.. I am trying to find out how to get started on a page, a friend fo mine( in Parson's terrie's) is a wiz with p/c' so she will help me .Well TTFN PAT X
Hello Lyn , setters and lady cat.
Thank you for your message, still not ready to write...
I am OK, when I have a day off I usually go sightseeing and take pictures of lovely English countryside in spring.
Thanks Lynn for your nice comments about our new boy. Hopefully he won't be too wild!! I think setters are happier in (at least) twos :-)
I'm glad it's a bit cooler in your part of the world after such a hot summer; it must be a relief.
All the best and lots of hugs to your girls!
Hi there Lynn.
I hope that I didn't say anywhere that she looks Scruffy..because I have one that looks like that all the time, but Jas's coat isn't quite so long, she has the dreadlocks and the curls but she looks like yours all the time..except when she is at a show, then (with a lot of work) she has a fairly straight coat. But it does take a lot of hard work
I have been pulled up, and told off, before on this site, they said that I was being facetious, about a dogs coat. I am not, so if you have taken offence at this, I am sorry, I didn't mean it that way, having a dog with a curly coat I know how difficult it can be to get it straight...
All the best Dee and the girls
Hi Lynn
many thanks for your Birthday greetings for Glenn. Yes, 5 is a beautiful age. He is know realy a man :-) and so confident in all situation.
Hope you and the girls are fine?
All the best and have a nice weekend
Esther
Hi Lynn,
Thanks for stopping by & saying hi. Have had both girls with mammary tumours within 6 months of each other. The younger one has a bad pathology report but I';m hoping we have taken all the nasties away. She gets her stitches out tomorrow & thanks God so far so good considering she has a shunt in her liver & anaethetics are not a good thing for her. Hope all is well with you & not too cold. We have the fire on here & both girls are very comfortable. Lots of hugs & cuddles to the kids.
Hi Lynn
thankyou for your lovely comments .. glad to know you're enjoying the site and your setters.
Mine are 9, 8, 5, nearly 4 and the little Hazel hooligan who's 2 next Friday.
will chat again sometime soon
Hi Lynn,
I'm glad you like my girls. Yours are lovely and they do look such good pals too. Your Megg in the first photograph has an expression like our Bridget. She sometimes looks up all demure. We call it her "Princess Diana" look.
Best wishes to you all,
Ruth
Hi Lynn ,, how goe's it , thank's for the wishe's ,,when you reach a certin age all you think about is a nice cupa coco and?hic cup,,,yeah what ever,, and,a good night's sleep,ha ha ,, if you belive that you will belive anything,, as you know from my profile I collect and make greeting's for the soldier's serving in Afghanistan these are donated by crafter's for the soldier's to send home to their families [free of charge] it has been at a stand still for a while but now we have a life line to them so now it's all hand's to the pump to get as many out to them for christmas,,dont laugh in term's of getting a large amount done we start about now,,this year we hope to treble what we sent out last year that amount was 3.500 but just a drop in the ocean as to how many lad's and lasse's there are out there,,one, lad wrote to me and said before these were available they got the card's off the internet and they were dear to buy,,some of the card's are just stunning,,,well enough of that what have you been up to? done anything exciting? I think I told you that my eldest son is in Perth I dont know where as he dosent keep in contact with us ,,its a shame but that's familie's for you,,at least his 2 children are still here, and we have a G.Granddaughter from his son,,I dont think I will bore you any longer and just say,,take care,,PAT x,,thank's again xx
Hi Lynn!
Thank´s for kind comments on my photos. We are looking forward to a lovely time here in sweden. The days are getting longer and brighter, just what we need after this long dark and cold winther.
Take care//KristinaXXX
hi Lynn, all well here. coolish weather right now, about 15 degrees (celsius) only, huge difference to the temperatures before (30). this pic was taken on thursday:
girls are doing very well! we are going to drive to Odin's breeder now (Emese, also on this site, taking all those lovely photos) and have a walk and chat a bit - hope the rain stays in the clouds...
I am in London now and thinking about a new camera.
I fell in love with Lonodn' s parks.
Unfortunately I can't see any setters here. What is very interesting for me, there are a lot of rescue dogs.
Cats are huge and I miss Mr Floyd, lovely and very funny burmese cat.
Reni
Rufus was bred by Sally Underwood--actually her partner--Lynton--they come from Moama. I chose her puppy because I loved the pictures of Rufus' Dad and Mum.
hello Lynn, thanks for the congrats. i was soooo nervous that i had pain everywhere in my body. like it was my first show ever... i am sure it was because i never heard of this judge before (wonder why i entered, hm, but it turned out good :-)) ). at the show, my friends with pointer and gordon did not do well, so when he started with the irish, i was a complete nerv wreck... he was very focused on movement and let us run run run run run run... i think this was our luck as Danka loves it much more than standing and moves with a wagging tail - a nice sight :-)
hope your girls won't get to stressed of the grooming - maybe a good opportunity to get new toys for them to make them forget the groooooming? :-)
have a nice week, Lynn!
laura and the girls
Hi Lynn
thank you so much for your kind words for Jamie :-)
we had a funny, sunny day! walking, take a swim (only the dogs! water is 12 degree) and have a meeting with Jamies dogfriends.
Take care and all the best Esther
thanks again for your comments, Lynn. the girls are very happy, no matter if it is field or the river. still no idea which they prefer but i assume it is the river as it is very very warm by now here in hungary.
Thanks for your message! Nice to hear from you. Your dogs look great too! I am glad that I have found this website so I can be in touch with other Setter lovers!
Best regards from Holland,
Marjolein
Thanks for your warm welcome! I just love this site! So interesting to see differences in the Irish Setter around the world. My Tucker's father was a dual championship and was from Australia . I enjoyed seeing your pictures! Thanks for you note. Jo Ann
Thanks Lynn for nice welcome! The site is a good possibility to meet new friends... in Australia!!! Best regards to you and your sweet dogs from Latvia!
Hi Lynn - thanks for your message. The site is great - and we're hopefully getting our Irish Setter at the end of August/beginning of September, so not too long to wait now! Hopefully she'll be as pretty as your two lovely gals!
Thank you so much. The websitr is already helping me. Maggie is my first setter and I am not very faimilar with the breed (I have been a border collie gir so far). looking after a senior of the breed is a big challange but I am determined not to let her down. She´s already "spoil rotten":-)
Hi Lynn - Thanks for the kind words and thank you for being such a great member of our community. I love the holiday cards on your page! They are awesome!
Hi Lyn
Thanks for your lovely comments about my boy Spencer. He was a beautiful boy inside and out. Unfortunately he died tragically on the road when he was only 14 months old. That was over 3 years ago now. We still miss him!
Hi Lyn
Thanks for your kind words and consideration. These red dogs are so special it is so hard when we have to say goodbye, It's hard enough when we know they have lived a long full life, but when they are taken much younger it is a tragedy. Bloat is frightening. I wish we could breed it out of all the lines. You're right, we can move on and love our new special dogs, but we never forget our ones who have shared their lives with us, for whatever time it was.
regards
Cheryl
All are safe that is what counts Saffy is still haveing a lot of pain but she will get over that and she will stop taking them all over the whelping room very soon I hope..Thanks for the congratulations greatly appreciated. Dee and the girls + 15

Hi there Lynn
I am really proud of them, they are all doing so well at the moment, I am going to put more pictures on but don't want to get boring about it, don't want to put too many pictures all at once.
But I will definitely be putting more on a few at a time.
Thanks for the comments they are really appreciated. Dee and the gang
