About Me:
My husband and I live in Hertfordshire and have owned at least one Irish Setter for over 25 years. We lost our fourth Setter (Murphy) just over a month ago and are slowly recovering but we are so lost that we are hopefully due to take delivery of either Bailey or Reilly (we cant decide) on 26th September. Our first two Setters were Follidown gentleman and the third we rescued from Maureen Hurl's Setter Rescue. The new boy is coming from Maureen Savage in Leicester - photos arriving shortly of all.

I found dog crates wonderful. When Fergus was a baby, he felt really secure in his crate and my older dog, Flynn used to go into the crate to get away from him as well. The door was open all the time so they just went in when they wanted to rest and Fergus would take himself oof to it at bed time. Obviously as he got older I no longer needed the crate and he came upstairs to sleep on the bed with Flynn. That was my first experience of using a crate and I now would never use anything else for a puppy.

When do you get your new puppy and who is he by?
    Best wishes,
    Michelle

Hi Shelley - I saw the puppies at Maureens and met Rachael the day Oscar went to their home. I have Ruby aged eight- bred by Maureen. Hope you have fun with your boy

Lots of love and praise when he 'goes' outside and straight out after food and when he wakes up. I used a crate when my girls were puppies and rarely had any accidents over night. I dare say you are doing all this already - has Maureen any tips?
