I am French and live in Great Britain. I have owned and exhibited Irish Setters since 1982. My affix with the Kennel Club is Anacardium and I have a small breeding kennel based on Hartsbourne/Brackenfield lines. I have now moved back to France in Burgundy.
Why are you applying for membership?
A. I am a human wanting to contribute to the community

Hi there Catherine
Well it is a bit of a shock..driving snow and rain, supposed to go to dog training today but think it wiser not to go.
My feet are frozen!!! this oldie needs to keep worm, but it is going to get really expensive up here, it has been showing off and on since before Christmas.
Ah well the pleasure of living up here, but still wouldn't change where I live.
We are at a show on Saturday, only an open show so will be having fun there, whatever the outcome. (weather permitted that is)
All the best and thanks for the inquiry..Dee and the gang
Hi there Catherine
Wow at least there was some good, not the bumpy ride but 20 mins early, fabulous, thank goodness he wasn't going the other way!!!
And yes Easter and still snowing, should be switching the heating off not turning it up again...I used to start lambing 1st April, so glad I am not getting up in the middle of the night to go out side and look at sheep, although under normal weather conditions I really do miss this time of year. Not the all nighters though..
I thought that the bit of water between Southampton and the Isle of White was horrendously expensive, we used to go there for the Easter break camping, to a place called Appledurcome (not sure about the spelling) beautiful place though, I go to Ireland now...hate ferries!!!!
All the best Dee and the gang. congratulations on the place in Open, always hard in Open...
Many thanks for the birthday message. I've had a lovely day. Bailey is fuly recovered after his bloat and woke me this morning with slobbery kisses. Can't get better than that, can it?
Hi Catherine thank you very much for congrats :-)) Really nice that we have meet so I know who given me congrats ...follow my 1 week pups on my web. www.hotsensation.se
Cheers / Kikki
the pics were taken after drying in the wind and by towel, we were with my friend's dad's car and of course i just could not put in a totally wet and muddy danka! i was very proud of her this weekend, she ran like a professional, and has a new nick name: "grande cerca", don't know the english translation but this type of field trial requires big big quartering, several hundred meters, think italians do it a lot. danka was fabulous and me very very proud. some people asked if i had a new dog :)))) still not steady on point though... oh well, still think that after more than a year's break this was a fantastic performance by her, even the judges were very impressed!
it is "big search", translated word by word, but i am sure there is a different expression for it in english. danka would point very shortly to indicate that there is a birdie and then run again to find more :-)))) she thinks this is enough :)))
Hi Catherine! Thanks for your nice comment on my blog. This photos were taken in ZOO. But inded in Slovenia there are many bears living in nature. So this story is by us possible. But in this case I would not be alive - probably :))
Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your birthday wishes - what a super surprise. Yes, I am well and so is Ray. Hope you and yours are all okay over there. Will send you a private email soon.
Pat
Catherine, I am using Milbemax to worm my adult dogs now and it seems to suit. I know breeders have different ideas about worming when bitches are in whelp but I always worm the bitch when she comes in season and the last time I mated a bitch before mating used Milbemax and then again when the puppies were 2 weeks old. A friend of mine who was a vet said to me once would you take drugs if you were pregnant and I said No and he said don't give them to your dogs then.
I mated Polmennor Village Gossip 3 times before I got a litter from her but the third time I did use a different dog and to make sure mated her twice 48 hours apart which I don't really like doing. She had 13 puppies. Good luck with your mating this time.
oh yes, very happy and oh, so tired!!!! very lively little girl but oh so beautiful and intelligent. and believe it or not, she points quail already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your birthday wishes, so sorry not to have got back sooner, it has been a very busy time with puppies going off to their new homes.
I now have a little more time to catch up on everyone's commets.
hi there, yes, scan done beginning of last week, we saw 6 but i have the feeling there might be some more as Danka is tall and long as well, so lots of space to hide. but i will be happy with 3 as well, been waiting so long for my very own litter.
little Neita is a dream, so obedient and such a good eater - so different from puppy-Danka! :-) there are many puppies out on the doggie-island, so she even has playmates which is a good thing as she gets tired and i can sleep through the nights again :-)
good luck with Kim! i am sure it works out this time!
Je vous remercie pour votre commentaire,et effectivement je suis tres fier et heureux de mon DUNDEE.
En esperant vous voir un jour en expo.
Cordialement
Alain
Hi Catherine,
Really,I haven't idea why the video didn't work for you.But it's from YOUTUBE.Try youtube-Champions and Handlers/The other setters/Good luck:)
Thanks Catherine. I am ok but I am really worried about my dog. I just don't understand it. He has been such a joy. We have an appointment with the vet today at 5pm, perhaps he is not feeling himself. I don't know.
Thanks Catherine. My poor boy. I cried most of the day but it will all work out. This is such a wonderful site for networking, getting assistance, advertising, and what have you. Everyone is so knowledgeable and quick to offer any advice they may have. I can only think of one thing that would be better than that, and that is to meet all the people and their dogs.
Hi there Catherine
Yes it is Jas, she has been operated on for this Melanoma and it was inside her mouth, problem is where it was, they couldn't get all of it out, And it has been diagnosed as malignant, so am looking at treatments and had already heard of the injection and my vet asked about looking into it, She has been great, (Well she has a Shenanigen dog called Fin) So she knows how these dogs get under your skin, But it has floored me, but while she is happy we will be....and I am not going to change my way of life eather, She wouldn't want it to be all about her, she is too nice for that, But it will be she won't leave my side now, well only for short periods of time, I don't want to make her stressed, she wouldn't like that either, Its very difficult to know which way to go, Sorry about rambling but I am sure you know how I am feeling at the moment. Thanks for you thoughts greatly appreciated. Dee and the gang
Thanks again for the comments they are gratefully received. And yes my vet is wonderful, not just because she too has an Irish, it is a good practice, I am really lucky to have them,
I am sure Jas will appreciate the hugs and Kisses from all of you, Dee and the gang
Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your birthday wishes. I spent the day with my family back home in Switzerland and enjoyed a few very nice and hot days on the continent....
How are you all?
Hi there Catherine
Thanks for that, I am girding my loins, I am like you I don't now talk on anything because of that, but couldn't let that one go, such bad manners...and this will probably be read by the person concerned. Everything is now monitored by some...
Hi there Catherine
Well if it is not agreed with then perhaps you never know!!!!, we must all learn to 'tow the line' and agree with 'god almighty' you know what they say of eve's droppers, they never hear good of themselves...Sorry about the pun...
I know that I was having a conversation with someone and a question was asked as to what we were on about, not to me though, they would have got short shrift.
Good! I'm looking forward to seeing those photos! And I much prefer a dog who runs off hunting than one who does not hunt at all;-)))
Just means a bit more work for you;o))
I've only just seen the photo of the dog therapy pool - I wish we had something like that near us.
best regards
Susan
