    Hi Cheryl

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I put the socks on Hobson's feet to stop him from scratching the stitches. Hobson is suffering severely at present with the humidity and he again looks similar to the photo I sent you. His skin problems were not severe before he suffered GDV. In all respects Hobson has not been the same dog. I have another battle ahead with Hammer now because he was debarked. I know the difficulty in dealing with the VSB but one has to try. Otherwise nothing will ever improve.

Best wishes from Susan and her English Setter kids

    Hi Cheryl

Pass on congratulations to Troy and Rebel and well done yourself. Youngin doesn't like the wet (he hasn't got web feet) its a struggle to get him out and now that he is sound again we don't need him injuring himself again. To hard to keep white poodle white and the forecast for the w/e isn't good and the van becomes to hard to clean. Good luck for today

    Cheers Rick

Thank you.  I have no formal set up photos of Irishfield Riona Ciara and she is out of coat at the moment so am reluctant to take any.  She is by Coppers Prins Trollmane (Imp Sweden) out of Irishfield Rachel (by Ciaran Dariabar Imp UK x Amhurst Ragsdale Regae).

    Hello Cheryl,

nice to hear from you. The setters we had and showed years ago were breeding from dogs that come from Listowel kennels from Toowoomba and they were mainly from english Wendover lines. I liked the look of the english breeding previuosly, but now looking at the photos of setters on this site i am flabbergasted. The confirmation of some of the setters and the coats leave me a bit awestruck. but maybe i have been out of the loop for to long.

we showed both setters and cavaliers for quite a few years but kids and work became the top focus but I never lost the love of the breed.

we always have had a dog in the yard but they have never really been mine. Rotties and Sheppards but they belonged to the kids. Now we have the time and we have decided to buy another setter and maybe get back to the show ring. we have looked at a buetifull pair of setters and decided to wait for a pup from the mating at the end of the year. we won't rush into things but will wait for what we like.

looking at your photos you have some nice looking kids too. What are the breeding.

how are you handling all of the wet weather up there, fed up i bet.

thanks for the contact and maybe talk later.

    Graham.

    Hi again Cheryl,

thanks for the message a few days ago and the information. my wife, Gay and I have been out to see Carmel at Mt. Mee but i needed to ask her if it was fine for me to discuss the fact that we seen her dogs and knew we wanted one of the pups from Annabelle and Macs mating. I think that was their names? we have booked a little girl so i hope all goes well and we are prepared to wait. She told me you and her are in touch on a regular basis.

hope it drys up for you soon.

    Hello Cheryl,

I asked Carmel for the breeding of Annabelle and Mac and she kindly sent me a copy of their pedigree. She also sad that you researched back further and if I ask nicely you might send me a copy.

we had a ball last night tracking back the line on the net  and seeing the photos that were on there of their family.

If you do send it please email at edwardsgraham@optusnet.com.au

    All the best

    Graham.

    Thank's Cheryl,

that was very kind of you, yes i had a great day, went for lunch at Toowoomba with Gay and our two granddaughters. It was very cold there but the restaurant had two nice wood fires burning and a couple of scotches warmed me up.

hope all is well with you and your dogs are doing a lot of winning.

    Hello Cheryl,

just playing around on ES and looking through some photos I seen some dogs by the Romarne prefix. not wanting to show my ignorance, is Romarne bred by Lynn Muir. I figure you would know if any one does. her breed look very nice on photo.

    Thanks

    Graham

  • graham edwards

    Hi Cheryl,

I was looking at Rhys Dwyers photo of his girl on ES and tried to track the pedegree but it was not on Hooleys or the other pedegree site. After we get the girl from Carmel we will look at getting her a companion in time, but I need to do some research and ask a lot of questions. Setters need a mate Ifeel they are not a breed that are satisfied with their own company for to long. I spoke to Rhys via email once but he doesn't have litters very often but from what I have seen of his dogs they look quite nice. Have you seen them youself? but all this is in the future and it is interesting to look at.

By the way, How tall is your boy or was the judge just short. Congrats on your wins to.

    Cheers graham.

  • Nardi Rowe

Hi Cheryl, I can't remember whether I responded to you.  I haven't worked out how to load photos yet.   Not brilliant at computers.  I've been unwell and busy looking after my daughter who turn 5 on Sunday.  Ciaran died at 16 1/2 years of age.  A darling boy - one of the smartest and sweetist Irish I've ever known.   Ciara is with Myra waiting for her to come into season.  Keeping my fingers crossed that she gets in whelp and has at least 2 lovely pups.
  • Nardi Rowe

    Hi Cheryl,

Ciaran was very special as was Ciara's mother, Rachel (a daughter of Ciaran who died on St Patricks Day this year at 16 (b. 1995) I think).  I am tired tonight having gone down to the Southern Highlands (south of sydney) to look at properties to move to.  When I find someone to help load photos into the computer, I will send you a photo.  They are not professional ones just homely ones but you'd get an idea of  what they look like.  I am leaving it up to Myra to choose a stud dog that will compliment Ciara and her pedigree that is now 3/4 Myra's with Nome and a Amhurst bitch I used with Ciaran.  When something happens, I will let you know. Regards, Nardi

  • Michelle Walsh

    Hi Cheryl !
Thanks for your enquires about Lego ! he's actually moving quite well at the moment thank God but he's still scheduled for a double arthroscopy procedure on tue 9th Aug. I think they're going to remove the mineralised tendon, not sure yet if they'll take out the bone chip yet. I need to speak to the ortho surgeon again before we make the trip down to cork...so keep those fingers crossed that all goes well :)

  • Melinda Auld

Thanks for the birthday wishes :)  Though I think when your toddlers gets to blow out the candles on your own cake, it's time to step aside lol...  I asked Niamh how old she thought I was.  First, she said 3 (because it's 1 year older than her).  I said, nooo, I'm much older than that.  Her next guess - 11.  You see, 10 is a very big number, and mama is older than that, so I must be 11.  Later, she told Glenn I was 26 (I wish!) and she was 29...  Hmm.  A little more number revision may be in order!

    Anyway, thanks again!

    xx

    Hi Cheryl !

Thanks for youe well wishes for Legolas ! he's doing very well at the moment & should have his stitches out on saturday. He's back on 4 legs most of the time...the rascal chewed off the purple bandage. He's a bit lame still but that will pass & his wound is healing up nicely. Just waiting on all that crazy hair to grow back :) A few smaller bone chips were removed but that was the biggest one...poor baby. I'm just hoping now that the tendon continues to behave itself !

Thanks again...hugs to you & all on 'the farm' :)

Hi Cheryl thank for your comments your red heads are beautiful
  • Melinda Auld

    Hi Cheryl

Aneira's not in season - she's having a phantom.  Very annoying, as she has become extremely destructive of anything fluffy (not a good sign of things to come LOL) and is digging up the garden to make dens.  She ate one of the lounge cushions the other morning, the little rat...  I'm supposed to be showing her this Saturday, but she has developed some nice, wide, child-bearing hips and and saggy back...not to mention being the sookiest sook in sookland.  So we'll see LOL

Hope you and yours are well.  And congratulations again on Clancy's title!  I'd love to try tracking with some of mine...if only I could find the time...

    xx
