How many Irish Setters do you have?
After loosing my beautiful girl Jasmine...(aka Irish Show Champion Caspians Modesty JW) I now only have two Irish again....Kirkavagh Darara At Mayfred (Saffy) and her son Mayfred Mr Magnifico (Findlay) I have now added another wonderful baby to my house, so am back to three...
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
since 1971
About Me:
I am retired and my life revolves around my grandchildren and my dogs. If I am not with one I am with the other. We all like going on country walks, and to the beach, I spend a lot of time traveling to and from shows, both in Scotland/England and Ireland. Saffy and Fin travel to the shows with me, but I only show Fin at the moment, he is doing very nicely for me in his first couple of years in the ring, and is enjoying, (probably too much), his show career. Because he is a very naughty boy at times...But has learned that his 'job' is in the ring. And he loves it..
Just added my new baby girl...Suteresett Mine Mine Mine at Mayfred....she is by Mr Jingles out of Suteresett Black Magic....she is at the moment a typical baby, into everything but she is all Mine.a little treasure. and she has settled into our house as though she has been here forever..

Hi Dee ! Sorry to hear your fine lady had lost her appetite there for a while but it's good that she's eating again, hopefully she'll enjoy her birthday treats and maybe won't mid sharing some with Saffy & Fin :) I hope you still have plenty more years with this lovley girl...they go by so fast don't they, I still can't believe lego is 9...I don't see him as an oldie...beloved Con was my oldie.

You decision sounds fair Dee ! We'll graciously accept best dog moth-class :)

Bye for now...Michelle & the lads

  • Michelle Walsh

Hi Dee ! Just saw Jas' birthday pics ! she's looking great, all neat & trimmed :) she's a lady with style, picking out her own treat and carrying it all the way home... Bet that ear didn't last long yum yum :)

Not to mention she's a real fighter to have survived cancer...I hope the side effects from the steroids will not affect her quality of life seriously and that you'll still have plenty of years together.

    ~Michelle & the lads xx

Thanks for letting us know about Jas and glad to hear she is sleeping well... indeed they sleep a lot when they get older, I was envious of my MC as for me it is the opposite... the older I get the less I can sleep. I loved watching MC in his sleep, trying to guess his dreams but it was mainly running, barking and eating... :-)  is Jas different? a big cuddle to your beautiful girl from me.

  • Michelle Walsh

Hi Dee ! many thanks for the well wishes ! he looks peaceful alright as it was only a few hours after his general anesthetic...he was still pretty out of it :), he's a bit better today, by tomorrow I'm sure he'll be back to 'normal'...then the fun will begin trying to keep him quiet. It seem it's the tendon more so than the bone that's giving him trouble so they'll deal with that first.

~Take care, Michelle & Legolas xx

Of course it was a fabulous win Dee, and we are very happy for you!!! David is in Berlin right now (Biomass conference) and should be back on Friday night... so may be I will have the great pleasure to see you in Antrim on Saturday!!!  Will lovely Jasmine come too?
  • Peter Hennig

Hi Dee you are right Elton has english lines Marie breeds to that type she does not like the modern american lines, she feels they have changed the breed from what they should be, having said that his mother has a tiny amount of american his grandfather is a swedish import from coppers who was also Morgan's father (my last boy) . Morgan had the deepest mahogany coat people would run their fingers through his coat to see if I had dyed it, as I walked him around at shows I could hear people say "look at the colour of that coat".When I lost Morgan last year Marie gave me Elton she has been wonderful.

Just opened up a ticket with Ning on the email issue.  Will let you know what I hear back.
  • Peter Hennig

Hi Dee, I too thought Fin and Elton had a very similar look and same here he can't sit next to you it's got to be on you, and the amount of times our dogs tap your arm just as you click on the mouse !!! all the best for the future with Fin Peter
  • Barbara

Hi Dee! Have you received my email? Wish you and yours all the best. Barbara
  • Barbara

Dear Dee! One message I have sent to you on 26. May and one yesterday. It was nothing important, but I thought I have to ask if you and yours are well. Maybe your inbox is not working? Take care Barbara
  • Gene

Will let you know what I hear back.  I have had 4 different reports of this email issue so it is obviously a legitimate concern.  The rub is I am not experiencing the issue so I don't think the issue is site-wide.  This make it much more difficult to troubleshoot and solve but hopefully it will get fixed soon.
  • lyn hathaway

hi dee yes got the package thanks a million i tried to text you on my phone on es but for some reason wouldnt send it . xxxx
  • Michelle Walsh

Hi Dee ! you both deserved it :) I'm sure he moved fantastic on the day...he looks great in the picture. Congrats again :)

  • Eileen Chesworth

Would it ever be nice if we could all meet? Watch our Reds play and mouth wrestle. My daughter brings her little dog over every day while she works and because he is so little Bailey gets down on his belly to play with him. Such gentle intelligent creatures. If we were ever to describe joy and perfection we would paint a picture of the Setter in all their glory. Then there is the people who chose the breed. Had I only known I would have had one by my side as soon as I got my own home many years ago. Dee your kindness will be rewarded. Take care of yourself and keep in touch.
  • Gene

Here's what I got back from Ning.  A little more generic than I was hoping.  Please let me know if any of these solve our issues.  Thanks!

This is most often a symptom of a browser related problem. Sometimes, installations of Internet Explorer can't handle that page well or Javascript could be disabled or blocked. I'd suggest swapping to a different browser (I like Firefox - getfirefox.com) and testing again. You can also check http://help.ning.com/?faq=3862 for more troubleshooting options.
