  • Dee Rance

Well its a small world!!!!!!!! Thank you so much I am so proud of her and Chloe, if it wasn't for her none of this would have happened, she moves her so well. They just go so well together, I can't move her very well now, this old age thing is something else......Thank you again Dee and the girls
  • Laura Kolbach

Archie was CACIB and BOB yesterday, and today CACIB. BOB today went to his "little sister" :-) Just wanted to let you know.
  • Dee Rance

Hi there Margaret, Is that Helen Cohan in your pictures? I love, the pictures they are like old masters, I would love to paint some of them. A red and white is something that I so nearly had, many years ago I sold a dog to Bob Knapton, and when he sent me some pictures of his litter I phoned him and said that I would like one unfortunately he thought that I was joking so I acquired my Irish. I love the markings on yours so many ''Islands of red in a sea of white'' turn into continents of red in a puddle of white. Will you be on the circuit this year?? All the best Dee
  • Dee Rance

Yes we will be over there again, but this time it will be on an even footing, last year you could see that some of the judges were wondering why this 6 year old was still in Open and not yet a Champion so she ended up with Reserve Green Star and the same bitch kept getting the green stars it was getting manotinous and EVERYONE was getting fed up with it, that's the way it goes but hopefully this year things will change but hey its a good week for socialising we always have a good time. May see you there. Dee
  • Nicole Wilson

Hi Margaret, I've only just realised that your photographs look very much like Scotland? Do you live in Scotland too?
  • Nicole Wilson

Oh, you live in a very beautiful area in that case! It must be excellent for the dogs, too. I've always wanted to visit the area sometime and hopefully I'll manage sometime this summer. We're just at the edge of Edinburgh and have some excellent walking opportunities around here, which is nice too. I didn't meet you at a field training day down in Kelso in the autumnm, did I?
  • gerardmirck

She is entirely working and field trial bred, but this year for the first time has been shown in Ireland - she was entered in 8 Irish shows this summer and got 7 Green Stars. But now its back to work, and she is running in field trials in Ireland handled by Marc Ruymbeke, who now co-owns Polly with me

Riley my Red and White boy is a son of Dalriach Auchindoun x Ballakinnish Minuet , what a carachter he is and also my constant shadow !! Regards Chris
  • Susan Stone

Thank you, Margaret. I think Wolfgang Stief was just as thrilled as I was, we felt it was a great day for the Irish! His bitch went really well, especially when paired with the pointer - no chance of photographs then, they were well out of photo shooting range...
    Greetings from snowy Switzerland

  • Rhona, Bruce n Lil Lucy Skene x

hello Margaret. I would like to congradulate you on your new puppy Meg. I hope she is doing well. Granaghburns Wild Flower Lady (Lucy) is getting on great. She is a very intelegent active young girl and is doing great on her training. How is Meg? Does she get on with the others? Lucy gets on great with Bruce and they are like really good friends. I love taking them long walks into the countryside but Lucy gets tired a little so i decide to carry her home. Well it was nice seeing meg again and i hope she becomes a great dog one day.
  • Rhona, Bruce n Lil Lucy Skene x

nice to here from you. Meg is a lovely puppy and i hope she does well for you. I have just took Lucy out for her walk and she is away to her bed. Bless. She is really good off lead and on lead but she does like motorbikes and cyclebikes so i am going to have to teach her not to run after them some how. I would send you some pictures but the weather here is bad and Lucy doesnt like going out in the rain very much so i will send you some photos when the weather is nicer which will probebly be after Christmas.

Hello Margaret,I have answered some of your questions which you raised on the forum :- Which came first ,the chichen or the egg.
  • Anne Morron

    Hi Margaret
I tried to email you but never successful. Then came across this site and took the opportunity to make contact after all this time. We are all fine and Maura is doing well. I will put some photos and footage up for you to see shortly. How are you?
  • Anne Morron

    Hi Margaret
I think I am going to enjoy visiting this site regularly. Seeing so many beautiful setters with their loving owners is heartwarming. So many of the red and whites look like Maura and Chelsea, I hope to be able to Catch up with some of their offspring and learn of their achievements.
What have you been up to since we last met?
  • Chris Knight

    Hello Margaret ,
It was nice to meet up with you in Dublin at last , I took one or two nice pics of Sandy ( I thought he was lovely by the way )so will download them on to my page in the next few days I did put some on the I.R.&White website too.
    Regards Chris
  • Thomas&Merete-Kennel Alvertoppen

Thank you Margaret, it was really exciting at the field trial, and you can imagine the feeling when the judge announced that Skadi got her 1.AK. Actually now she is qualified as "Elitehund" = Elite dog, meaning that she is recommended by the breed comittee for breeding. This is one level above "Avlshund" = Breed dog, which also is recommended, but not "as much" as the Elitehund. And this is by the standards of the Irish (red) setter club!

It is good to hear that we get two more IRWS to Norway from field trial lines, now lets hope the owners gets the best out of them in field trials :)

And please keep us informed on any good dogs "over there" with above average level of hunting desire and intensity, we are now searching for a dog for a possible mating with our bitch Skadi.
  • Ana Gaspar Kozelj

    Hi Margraret,
thanks for your few words. Actually Jazz is 8 weeks this coming Friday, and she is very well, getting bigger by the day, and we are so excited about her litter, but I must keep my act together for her when she needs me. I'll let you know when she produces.
    Suzanne.
  • Suzanne Humphries

Oh YesI do indeed remember, how could one forget such a memorable moment in time! So pleased she has turned out well for you, makes all the effort Ve put in worth it.
Such pleasing news. Ve's dog is very nice now, he has taken a while to come together, but worth the wait.

    Hi Margaret,

I hope you don't mind me contacting you but I have just spoken to Carol Gill and she recommended I contact you as I'm after an IRWS pup.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you have any available - preferably a bitch but would certainly consider a dog.

    swiper@swiper.wanadoo.co.uk

    Thanks,

    Emma.

  • emma bell

    Hi Margaret,

Just to let you know that I've managed to get a bitch pup from Gaye O'Connor's current litter!

Thanks for the offer of dropping the pup off and I hope you don't think I was messing you about.

    Thanks again,

    Emma.
