Hi Dawne, how lovely to read about the dogs you used to own. Some lovely pedigrees in behind your dogs. Love to see some pics!
My friend, Troy from Nanyima Kennels, who bred my boy, Clancy started off with his foundation bitch from Ali Nielsen, Rustmoor Madison Avenue Such a small world isn't it.
Both Troy and I are mad in researching pedigrees, so I have checked my database and I see I have your girl, Rustmoor Red Arrow and also your litter details. I don't suppose you still have the pedigree of Dubliner Gentleman? I am missing some of his lineage.
I completely understand your tragic loss of your girl, Brianna as I too have lost a young Irish to the road. It devastated me for a very long time. Such a tragedy when they are so young.
Look forward to chatting agai soon.
cheers
I would love to meet up one day. Hopefully when I come down Brisbane way for shows sometime in the next year or so?
Hi Dawne. thanks that would be excellent whenever you get a chance.
You would be most welcome to come up and look over Troy's litter. I will let him know. I'm sure he will be excited to meet you too and talk about old pedigrees!!
Do you know Graham Edwards. He may have been still been showing around the same time as you. I have been chatting with him on ES too. He has just got another setter after about 20-30 years. He had a dog name Ardaire Apollo Amber who was born in the 1970's and bred on from him. Check his page as you may know him.
Yes, I would love to come down to Brisbane more often, but it is such a long drive!!
Hi Dawne, I was just browsing on ES and I see your comment on Myra's page. Sowerhill Keelta's dam's name was Sowerhill Jassy, so she would have been your girl's great great granddam (according to my database!). cheers, Cheryl
like you we have been out of the setter scene for a long time and about 2 years ago we decided to get another setter. after a lot of searching and a long wait we got a lovely girl fromn Carmel Stringfellow and the wait seems worth it. She is about 3.5 months old now and we have our first show early July.
We showed in the late 70's and 80's and have found a huge change and will need to learn as we go again. it is a shame about no setter club any more because it was a good venue to talk, listen and learn. Maybe Cheryl will come up with an answer if she gets enough support.
We misplaced all our old pedigrees too and have found no proper data base was kept to track our old dogs pedigrees. All we left have are old challenge certificates. It is a shame.
hope you enjoy your time on ES. It can be very interesting, my favourite is looking at the pictures.
if you are at Durack on the 8th. it will be good to meet and have a chat. don't know what my showing ability will be like now but it's all in the fun.
yes we wanted a red with English lines as well. our original setters were all Wendover decendents. Our first was sired by a Listowel dog with all Wendover. like you we lost him at a young age from a car and we know how heart breaking it is.
if you prefer you can send your mobile to my email address instead of over an

will be good to meet you and see if we knew anyone in commom.
