Is Dudley a therapy dog too?  He definitively looks like a dog with a mission, and a very serious one !!! :-)

Dudley is an unofficial therapy dog for me & those he regularly meets in the dog park.  Had I adopted him younger I would have put him thru official training. He goes to assisted living home once a week to see my in-laws. There he meets and greets other residents. Being tall is an advantage because he's wheelchair or bedside height.  Easy to pet. And he's so mellow & well behaved. Dudley doesn't lick, jump or droll. He stands perfectly still and nuzzles much like a horse. Or he's happy just to be part of a group like above!

I only regret not rescuing Dudley earlier. He was in a house w/2 other IS including a larger blind dog who pushed him around. Stole his food. Dudley wasn't getting much exercise. Sleeping on lumpy mattress under stairs and eating/drinking from his bed. Hardly standing. His owner thought he was 'crippled' and was talking about putting him down because she couldn't manage 3 dogs & being unemployed. I fell in love with Dudley and started paying for vet appts.. Boarded him some at my house. Would have offered to adopt but I had not owned a dog since childhood. Lacked confidence. Wish I had found this site then for IS advice & guidance! D was quite anxious during the move to my home but he's happy now. Thanks ya'll for your lovely comments!
