Got it! I get acupuncture, massage, hydro and chiro -therapy while my master goes w/o spa

services. Beauty, even at 14yrs. is its own reward! You should see HER nails!

Fifteen! That's very encouraging. Dudley has arthritis in right leg which causes it to knuckle under at times

Can still climb 2 steps. We mainly walk off pavement on park grounds.

our dog was fine, In Sydney we get deadly ticks and our dog was bitten and nearly died. She had treatment which is a kind of poisen and recovered. 6 weeks later happened again (we do use frontline) and treatment again. Then she suffered some kind of stroke and that was it. If it was not for the ticks she would have gone on longer I believe. That year it was particularly bad and we live in an area that has them 365 days of the year just some months worse than others. Arthritis was never an issue

That's amazing. I was told that I.S. are especially prone to arthritis as they age. The good news is there's

medication and physical therapy to manage it. Odd to think a tick can cause death. We have tick

fevers (Lyme & Rocky Mt Fever) in the U.S. but dog death from ticks is rare. Problem with oldies is the

cure for many conditions is often worse than the disease. I think any IS who makes it to 15yrs has received

the great care and loving attention. And it's such encouragement to the rest of us to hear of dogs living

to 15 & 16yrs.. I was told my Dudley probably wouldn't make it to 13 yrs as big dogs just don't live long!!!

Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

The ticks are called palaysis ticks and we lost a cat to one few years ago. I frontline Molly and also a flea and tick collar which lasts for 8 weeks and frontline every 2 weeks in summer and once per month in winter. i must admit i sometimes forget but Molly spends a great deal of time inside but they can be carried on us or the cats inside also. I can't count the number of times we have pulled them out of ourselves. Oh well the joys of living where we do!!!  I am sure with all the pampering Dudley gets will assist in a long life.
