Introducing Tara, Tilly and their pet Linda :-)

How many Irish Setters do you have?

How long have you owned Irish Setters?
5 years
About Me:
I live in beautiful Perthshire in Scotland, with my family (partner Chris and two children Holly - 12 and Jamie - 3) and two Irish girls. Tara is five now and we have had her since she was a eight-week-old pup. She's the best dog in the world; her temperament and personality are unlike any other breed I've owned. Her patience with baby Jamie knows no bounds, and she is more than tolerant of being dressed in a variety of Holly's accessories! She's the ideal companion, appreciates a long run but is equally content to be a couch potato. She has given me such a great introduction to the breed I have now got another little girl Tilly (Drumwhaur Sweet Dream). I love having two and hope to show Tilly in the future.

Hi Linda
Love the picture, as someone who bought one of my last puppies said, "I suppose I will have to but another Settee now!" They really should be called Irish Settee dogs!

Hi there Linda,
Thank you for the congratulations, I am, as anyone who knows me, just a wee bit prejudiced as far as Jas is concerned, I was also pleased for my Saffy she got second in Post Grad... and for everyone who was there but unfortunately some people go without a prize, doesn't mean that they are not good dogs, don't let that put you off as far as showing is concerned we seem to take it in turns as far as winning.. If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask, I am not like some of them, I will try and help anyone, and if something isn't working (as it often doesn't in dogs, they are so individual) then there is always another way of doing things, or perhaps you have already shown dogs!!!! Where abouts are you from?? and as far as Chloe is concerned I call her ''my secret weapon'' she is one of the best handlers there is at the moment, Jas wouldn't have half of what she has if it wasn't for her, she handled her on the move for me when she got her C.C. and R.C.C and many of her Green Stars, Speak soon Dee and the girls

Hi there Linda
It doesn't matter if Tilly is too young for Alva, that is a fairly important show with respect to Irish up here in Scotland, although only an Open show everyone who is anyone will be there, and some!!!!... So you should try to be there, being seen is very important!!! and it is one of the very few shows that you can bring a ''baby'' to, so do come, don't feel that you shouldn't just because she is too young.
I don't know when the Perthshire show is or Alva , we are going down to the ISAE shows for the Friday and Saturday, (taking my tent). Then we are going on the 'Circuit' in August and there are not many judges that a 'good' for us this year, so we will save some money....
Do try and come to Alva, as I say its quite important to get 'your' face seen. I don't do many Open shows. Who is your other Irish??? seen the pictures....Dee and the girls

Hi there Linda
Good, glad you decided to try Alva, you will enjoy it I am sure. I kind of know the breeding of your first young lady, and yes, you shouldn't be able to find a rosette big enough for them, I always say, as far as showing is concerned, I take the best dogs, and bring the best dogs home, if the judge can't see that, then that is their problem.....I think that they are the best of breeds, I did however love all the others that weren't Irish Setters, my ''Pedigree Bitsers'' and the Akitas they were lovely for different reasons, but non-the-less beautiful, I will however see if I can join the new sections!!! Hi Linda,
Great idea about creating the Scotland group. I'd also like to see how many Scottish setter owners there are out there :-). I show and work Busby but since it's my first setter it's all still reasonably new to me and I'm still learning. You have two lovely girls. It must be quite busy around the house with the wee puppy!! When's your first show?

Hi Linda,
Glad to be your friend :-) and thanks for your comment on Sarah.
She's that kind of Irish I have always wished to have :-) ..... an enchanting creatureand who knows how to use her charm :-)) Just love her!
Who are the parents of your puppy girl? It sound exciting that you are attending shows, looking forward to hearing from your experiences!
Regards, Marta
