Irish for nearly 2 years and english for about 15 years
About Me:
I live near the East Yorkshire Coast in England. We have 1 irish setter aged 20 months and 4 english setters. We were always told the irish were "mad", but having had english we find the irish are actually quite calm! We find the difference is that that although the english are perhaps more laidback, the irish is much more biddable, wants to be with us all the time and is more obedient. We can even let her off the lead and she comes back to us - a real novelty for us!!!!1
Welcome to this fantastic site Suzanne!
Lovely puppies you have there.

Hi Suzane, Yes, I do know what you mean about two puppies. We got both our girls within 3 weeks of each other, as baby puppies. They do have their 'crazy' times, but I love to see them happy & playing together. Now they're both 6yrs old and are the best friends ever. Couldn't decide between the Irish & the English, (we have had Irish before), so we got both. Yes, there is nothing better than a puppy, and better still, nothing better than a Setter.

Hello Suzanne, not easy going on holidays the more dogs you've got... I know the problem!
Grindelwald is about 1 1/2 hrs drive - we don't live in the mountains. Look up Manuela from Switzerland on this site and you can find pictures of her Irish Setter in and Grindelwald. I think they are actually there at this moment.
all the best

Hi Suzanne
What fantastic setters you have there! I've had English for 26 years, won't ever be without one. My Daisy was 10 last week, she is unfortunately incontinent due to having been spayed 2 years ago, she had a womb infection otherwise I wouldn't have had her done. So we have to keep her hair very short.
All the best, Deborah
The beach is up at the top end of Hornsea, by the caravan park, down some stairs and turn right. The walk is near us at Huddersfield though and you're right it is totally deserted most days, which is good for my Great Dane as he doesn't like other dogs. Can be a bit 'Hound of the Baskervilles' though when the clouds come in!! :-) I got my English from a Great Dane breeder near Bridlington, can't remember his name though and I lost her papers in a house move about 9 years ago.
