Pelle 's fear for the gunshot

i promis you the story about Pelle's fear for the noise of the gun

we went with him to a special show only for gundogs , there where , besides the show , lots of things to do with gundogs , so also a demonstration with gundogs working under the gun , hope i say it wright , it was a outdoor show , the weather was very warm but lots of wind , we where sitting next to the ring where the show was , we had little beachshelters with us for the dogs to stay out of the sun , there where big masts standing close to the ring with signs on it , Pelle was lying in the tent , asleep , when suddenly , because of the strong wind , the mast fell on the tent on Pelle , this happened two times , at the second time the demonstrations just started , the moment the mast fell over the men fired the gun , Pelle was so stressed that we could not calm him down , he became overheated and we tried withy wet towels to cool him , we could not walk him of the field because he was so scared that you could not hold him on the leese , it took over a hour to finally calm him down , we gave him rescue as well.

since that moment every noise that sounds like a gun shot makes him frighten , now he is getting older he can cope better but still shivers with fireworks a.s.o

that is why i was so proud of him that he worked for me under the gun , i never had expected him to do this , but he was so full of the pheasant that he forgot his fear.

I can very well understand how poor Pelle must have felt. A shot and everythings falls on him. I really hope he will get over this.
