Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Well, the first show for 2008 has been and gone. My two were the only two Irish entered. Fionn got Best of Breed, and Maisy was bitch CC. Fionn was definitely in "sulky setter" mode, and skulked his way around the ring until the last lap when Glenn pulled a handful of sausage out of his pocket and thrust it in Fionn's face. Oh, the joy! Oh, the rapture! The bloody dog wouldn't keep four feet on the ground after that...

Suffice to say, he didn't go any further hehehe...but RUBIG went to an intermediate anyway, so we were knocked out.

Other than that, it was a nice night - not too cold, not too hot. Good company (as usual), and it was nice to catch up with everyone after the Christmas/New Years break.

We even made it home before midnight for a change. (11.54pm...that doesn't count as midnight, right??)

I hope your boys aren't sulky like mine though, Willem! Fionni is the most stubborn dog on the planet... ;-)

Fionni has more of a "what's in it for me?" attitude to showing LOL. When the judge asked him to do two laps of the ring on Saturday (instead of the usual one) that was when he decided it was sausage time NOW. (He is smart enough to know that he gets the treat after the usual one lap...so why did he have to wait until the end of TWO laps??) Sometimes I think Irish are too smart for their own good...
