(Ruby at 7 months)
Today I went with Ruby and 2/4 of my children in ZOO. Admission for dog is 1€.
First we went to look ducks….of course, so she could feel the instinct….duck’s scent…
But right into next closure was a shock. Ruby was scared to death by DONKEY.
Ruby went backwards….panic…head down….and “hop” the collar went down. (it was new so it was a little to big)
Silly setter, scared, running free in the middle of the ZOO.
On the order “here” she heard something and she came, but when I tried to catch her, she ran away again.
I was afraid that she’d run into some closure to some animal. (Zebras, antelopes, bison…)
What can you expect from a confused setter?
I wouldn’t even be surprised if she’d go swimming. (I just hope that she’d go into the sea slough’s pool, not into the tigers…). But on my BIG LUCK, another person with a dog came by, and he caught my Ruby. (Obedience: aren’t we went into two schools? Grrr...) But I laughed when he caught her for her first leg. :D That was funny to see. :D
Okay. We went further. Bears, wolfs….ok. She even looked curiously at wolfs.
But then, we passed parrot, lion and an elephant.
There were 2 parrots and they were yelling and screaming at each other (arguing)…. Ruby on the floor, low position…THE END OF MOVING ON. She decided that she’s not going by these weird beasts. No way!
I had to lift her of the ground, INTO MY LAP, from the low position on the floor. And I was carrying my red beast about 20m. Poor little thing was so confused. On the left: arguing parrots. On the right: Lion, watching straight into her. And straight in front of her: an ELEPHANT, which is about 3× bigger than DONKEY.
Nope, life with setters is not easy.
But it’s exiting, playful, and so much fun.!
