Unreliable obdience

Proportional with huger is rising working obedience of our Ruby.
Hungry Ruby = obedient Ruby
Full Ruby = obstinate Ruby

Proportional with hunger is rising even the quality of her hearing.
Hungry Ruby = hears everything on first word.

Proportional with hunger is rising her wish of socializing.
Hungry Ruby = comes to me on the firs call.

It’s been happening to me lately that I was looking for some change in my pocket and I pulled out some dog snacks. =]
But her taste for snacks is changing quickly.
The thing that today is “yummy” tomorrow won’t be good anymore. (Full ass of food. =] )
She just looks in my hand what’s in it – and then she decides if it’s worth to sit down… wait… bark…
Sometimes she just drives me crazy!

They are so silly sometimes, but so charming…. I wouldn’t change her for anything in the world.

welcome to club :-)
i guess everyone doing obedience have had an accident like that :-)
"upps no change just a few old dry snacks and maybe a wooden stick for scent retrieve :-)"
some dogs are what we call - "not lassie" and snacks are not their ultimate drive specially among other enviromental stimulis.
this recepeit has prove to be good among us specially as you can do several flavours keeping them on the fridge and have a different one for each day so you can surprise your smart Red!
250 grams of oatmeal
250 of meat (liver, salmon , sardines,chicken breast, etc, -)
garlic
parsely
2 eggs
put the row meat, garlic and parseley in a machine to turn it into smashed almost liquid stuff - sorry my cooking language is bad:-)
then add it to the oatmeal and mixed it well, add the tow raw eggs and mixed well. if it is too sticky add a bit of water. add 2 tea spoons of this bake powder - i think its the name its this powder to make the cakes grow.
put it in the oven as if it is a cake in this special recipient and after 10 minutes start to see if its baked
after baked wait until its not cold and slice it into tiny bits.
use some and keep the other in cool. you can do diferent ones using diferent meats and fishes so you have diferent flavours and use a diferent one everyday
hope this will help cause it will be a case of a simple solution otherwise it might have to do with training thechnics and the kind of motivation used in it - have you try clicker trainning ? - it helps the dogs to cooperate with us.
