Here we are settling in to UK, Wolverhampton

We arrived to UK as planned on Monday 17th of September. The journey went well, nearly 2000km driving in just a couple of days. We stayed the first night in a Scandic hotel at Kolding, Denmark. The funny thing is that there were 2 big dog shows in Kolding at that same weekend, and the hotel was full of dogs. I started to talk to this one Lady Judge in the elevator, and can you believe that she was also from Finland - What are the odds for that! Then the second night we stayed at an Ibis hotel next to the Euro Tunnel in France. And then on Monday we took the Euro Tunnel to UK and drove to Wolverhampton.

So we have now been here for 3 weeks and settling in quite nicely. We live at the moment in Penn, Wolverhampton, but we are looking for something more suitable for dogs, more countryside I would say.

So folks, if you live near to us, I would like to hear some good advices, please. Is there some good big park nearby, where you can go with dogs and  the dogs can run free and have fun? Then about the vets, any good recommendations? And what about some good stores, where I can buy Royal Canin’s dog foods?

Hi Maria, glad move went well, sorry dont know of any parks round there, it's a bit far away from me, if you want to give them a good run you could drive them to Sutton Park or the Clent hills would be about 30 mins drive from you, i'm sure if you go on line you will find your nearest pet shop selling Royal Canin food, i know they sell it in my local pet shop which is a 'Just for pets' shop,

Hi Ellen, Nice to hear from you. We still have a lot to arrange, and there is really a lot of paper work to do, when you move to UK from abroad.. Thanks for the tip of that Park. I'm gonna drive there this week, might be good to go there on a good weather. I will google the pet shops near us, thanks. We'll have to meet some day in the near future, when we have done all these registrations and stuff like that.

For dog food try this website  http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/ they deliver free and often have offers. Long term, at a lot of the championship shows, Royal Canin have a stand where you can buy from them direct and you will get it at the best price.

Well cannot tell you anything about parks around your area as I am too far away from you but I hope you are all settled now and your fur babies are enjoying their new home. I am sure they are wondering where is the snow now  :-)
