Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Pitanga is recovering slowly from her surgery. She is still in the hospital since her night was not so good, but doing a lot better now. We are hopping to have her at home by dinner time.
While Pitanga is recovering from her surgery with me in Évora, Romã is staying with my parents in our small farm in Portalegre. She was doing fine, but this morning she somehow got a pine tree larvae in her mouth. They are very toxic and normallu cause necrosis of the place they touch. She is currently in the vet hospital in Portalegre fighting for her life. Her tongue is swallen and she cannot eat or drink, so she has an IV drip. We are now waiting to see if her tongue gets necrotic and if it does how much of it.
If there is too much tongue necrotic she may have to be put down as she would not be able to eat or drink.
I am really hoping both my girls recover quickly and well from this horrible horrible 24 hours. Pitanga is not at risk, but is very unconfortable, Romã is at risk and extremely unconfortable. What is worst is that I can't leave Pitanga right now to go and visit my little girl. She is OK and with the best of care, I trust my vet and my mother to take excellent care of her, but it still is very hard to be unable to visit her.
so sorry to hear about your dogs hope both of them
will be ok soon
What a terrible time for your two girls, you and your family. I hope everything works out well and that the two girls quickly get better so that you can stop worrying about them
Thank you all for your support.
No changes on Romã, but at least Pitanga is already at home sleeping next to me. It would have been a lot harder tonight if I didn't have any of them with me!
