Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Last night, I had a field trip to a chicken slaughter house (...my life is perfect...) and I had to leave my girls at home alone, from 7h30 pm until 4 am. Whenever I have to be gone for longer than usual, I leave each with a nice cow skin bone, to keep the entertained.
They know what the bone means, look quite sad and go to their little beds, where they get their consolation prize for being left alone. It does the trick, they know not to expect me by the door. =)
To my great surprise, last night I was greeted by a very happy Romã, and a very proud looking Pitanga:
She had climbed up to my bed and placed her bone on my pillow, untouched, curled up in a ball and slept trough the time I was gone, next to her bone...and my pillow!
She saw me, got up with a very wagging tail, picked her bone up and proudly gave it back to me, with a look that could only mean: "see, I didn't ruin your present! Now that you're home, we can play with it togheter"
She was soooooo proud chewing her bone on top of my belly, it made my night! =)
... Nothing like a setter to make you sleep like a baby after being in a slaughter house!
