A while ago my only girl Bonnie passed away. Whilst sitting by her grave, these words came to me, as I was just overwhelmed by the loss of her but the joy that I had from her life, and how she had changed my heart, for the better, and hopefully made me a better person!
A Change of Heart
I asked of God, ‘Will I see her again?’
He smiled, replying ‘Be still ,my friend’
‘In your dreams, forever more,
Every night, she’s there, be sure.’
I asked of God, ‘Will I hold her once more?’
Grinning, he laughed, ‘ your heart’s held in her paws!’
‘Rest assured, it will always be!’
Words to me so Heavenly
I asked of God, ‘Will I hear her again?’
He frowned and said, ‘This isn’t the end!’
‘You hear her through life’s gentle thoughts,
And picture the precious journey you walked.’
‘Reflecting my Name, she taught you well,
My gift to you, a beautiful girl.
Sent from me, she changed your heart,
And both in me, you’re not apart. ‘
‘’Now you know , be loyal, give love, be a friend,
Through your life’s journey, do this, again and again.
And always remember, that right from the start,
A miracle began,
For we changed your heart.

Lovely poem thank you for sharing
That was great it made me cry and remember my special boy Radleey who I lost on April 5th 0f 2013. They are hard to lose but remember how much joy they gave us the short time we have them. I do believe that someday we'll see all our setters. Thanks for the poem.
