Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

For the first times in decades in the Netherlands, a high field qualified Irish setter won an Excellent in an international show. Summertime Lady gained her 1 excellent last Sunday at the Hanzeshow in Zwolle, in the working class under judge Wil Hochstenbach.

The three years old Irish import, bred by David O'Connor, was trained to go from "green" to "catwalk" by Joop Buiten on the Dutch island Ameland. He showed her. She is now back working in the fields with me together with young Ceasar, the winningest young working Irish setter, her niece Redwing Last Apache from the USA and homebred Giulla O'Conloch.

Our aim is to present during the celebration of the centennial of the Irish Setter Club of the Netherlands a red setter that can win both at shows and field, just like it was with the most famous Irish setter in the Low Countries, Derry Una. According to reports in her days she "took the fields by storm", next day winning a show.

Thanks for your attention,

Henk ten Klooster

Thanks Rosie! It would be great meeting all people who want a bright future for our Irish setter in the next hundred years. That will probably be the theme for ISCN's centennial.
