Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

First of all, thank you all for your support and wonderful words of encouragment.

Pitanga is doing just fine, she is back being a Setter at times. She tried to chase some birds this morning and is eating and drinking well, so as long as I keep her calm and not running around like a mad dog, she should be fine in a week. Her hearing has already improved and she is a bit scared of the loud sounds as I think they are now a lot louder, but she is adjusting very well - no more screaming from me, yeay!!!

After scaring the vet again, Romã started to recover late last night. Her tongue was not so swallen and she was able to breathe on her own. The vet still does not want her eating as she may choke, so she is still with an IV and will be kept that way until her tongue goes back to its normal size. She also says the tongue is looking nice and pink, so even if there is necrosis it'll probably be just a tiny bit. It looks like she'll be just fine.

Also, my vet here called me crazy and sent me back home. Pitanga is well enough to get trough an 1h30 car trip ok, so I'll be going home to visit my baby girl. Both vets think that since they are both recovering from something it'll probably help to have them togheter - they'll both be more confortable, and so will I, having both my reds next to me =)

Tomorrow there may be some more news and pictures of both girls.
