Hi Sharyn. I have been through two bouts of HOD with my puppy, Meghan, and have had little time to go online.
I taught all my dogs to retrieve by using an ear pinch. In other words a forced retrieve. Once they know they have no choice about picking up the dumbbell, the love to retrieve it.

Sharyn,
Try putting him on a Flexi. Make it a game with treats as a reward for giving the item back. You can also play fetch with two items. Whan he picks up one, taunt him with the other.

Following Rosie's (pictured with dumbbell) early retirement, we went on to get all our AKC Rally titles, and had great fun with it. Rosie loved Rally, and it was less stressful than regular obedience classes. Enjoy!

Thanks Sharyn, it wasn't meant to be an action shot. I was trying to take a head shot, but he decided to leap at the camera!! He's such a cheeky boy. I see from your pics that Clancy and your boy Fin are related! Clancy's grand-dad is Nome.
Thank you, life stands still when you lost your best friend.
Rescue is how I can cope with the loss, hopefully Amber a 5 year old will will be soon on her way home to me.Can't wait to give her a big hug..and kiss.
Hi Sharyn - Thanks for your note. Sorry you are having issues with ES. Sounds like it could be a resource issue. What type of Internet (speed) connection do you have? How old is your PC? How often do you restart your PC? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Love your Setters Sharyn, Beautiful dogs! Love the shot of them with Father Christmas! Love the shots of them in the water too and by the beach, they look to be having so much fun!
All the Best; Mary
hI Sharyn,
