Hi @ all.

This morning I noticed Vito was not fit, he didn`t even want to go outside... I thought maybe he has cystitis as he became so wet the day before and it took us maybe to long to get home where he was warm and dry. I went to the vet, though it`s Sunday. The vet found that Vito has acroposthitis and a beginning cystitis.
The analysis of the urine I brought in a glass said that the urine was far too basic and the vet also found glucose. I was shocked. The vet though said that this does not neccesarily mean that Vito has diabetes! His urine is just so basic, everything seems disordered somehow, this could be just temporary and I shouldn`t worry. .But of course I do.
He shows no other symptoms such as drinking more or becoming thinner... (I have read a few things on diabetes`symptoms in the www).
What do you think? Could this really be just temporary? Because due to acroposthitis and a beginning cystitis everything is disordered somehow?
At the moment Vito is sleeping. Poor boy, the antibiotic makes him tired... he was also given a paste that should help against the urine that is too basic. Please forgive my horrible english. I can`t really concentrate... :-(
On tuesday the urine is going to be controlled again.

Hi Christine
Sorry Vito is not well, I hope he improves rapidly with antibiotic treatment. I'm afraid I can't help, I tried googling but without much success, all I found was 'Balanoposthitis'?
Hopefully the treatment combined with a lot of rest will soon restore Vito to his normal self.
Wir wünschen Vito Gute Besserung!

I remember once taking our cat to the vet once in an emergency. It was not clear what was the matter (she suddenly cried out and cringed) and it looked like a kind of fit. The vet took blood and remarked on the level of glucose being too high... it turned out that the cat had a dislocating knee and the extreme pain caused an effect on the glucose levels due to extreme stress.

Habt ihr auch viele läufige Hündinnen in der Umgebung? Das könnte ein Auslöser gewesen sein.
