Grass and dogs - for the greenfingered amongst you?

Hello,
As I am in a rented house, the garden has taken a bit of a battering from all the snow and also the joys of having Ollie run around.  We want to plant some grass seed with ryegrass in in about a months time so that we can start getting some semblance of a lawn back ready for the next house inspection!  I just wanted to check, does anyone know of anything that can be dangerous when you are regrowing your lawn?
Also - as an aside. My girl Eva that I used to have never ever pooed on the patio, just on the grass, which was brilliant.  Ollie is not so good at that, he just goes where he wants to, so quite quickly it can be like walking the gauntlet! Is there a way we can discourage him from going on the concrete?
Any ideas or comments greatly appreciated!

I think it would be better to keep the dogs off the grass while you are trying to get the lawn back with seed etc. It is better for the dogs to go on the patio area (concrete) as it is easier to clean up also more hygenic than letting them go on the grass, hopefully you are worming your dogs every 3 months to prevent contamination from worm eggs and larvae. I think this is quite important seeing as you are only renting your house, especially if people move in after you and have children. The best soloution would be to fence off the grass area, hope this advice helps........regards Linda.
