Field trials during celebration of the Ulster Irish Red Setter Centenary on Murley Mountain on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September were won by the Irish red and white setter Pallas Green Harriet, in an entry of 40 setters&pointers.

Next (Sun)day she was beaten in the second round of the IRWS confined breed stake on Dublin Mountains going according to her trialler “half a mile on the wings ending up in the sin bin”, still in his eyes “a beautiful performance”.

This two years old bitch, bred and raised in the Netherlands is the first Dutch setter ever in history to win in the country of origin. Congratulations for breeder Gerard Mirck and trialler/owner Jim Sheridan (Craigrua). Before she won enough for the title of Irish Field Trial Champion.

Harriet is a daughter of Harry, discussed on this list before in topics “Do you love, hate or don’t mind white on a red setter” and most recent “AKC strips winning Dutch setter”. As some contributors wanted a complete portrayal plus pictures of both Harry & Harriet, on the website of the foundation for original setters work has started to provide that see www.Iersesetter.com Target is to finish it next weekend.
