Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

The Isle of Wight County Express reports today that the Irish setter Siren was buried when a cliff landed on her. Suffering heavy bleedings, badly damaged bones and compressed lungs, Siren was carried along the beach to the vet where a leg was amputated.

The story is on http://www.iwcp.co.uk/News/Dog_lost_leg_after_cliff_fall.aspx

Reading Sirens story provides warnings for setter fanciers who enjoy walking wild landscapes. Always a mobile is a must. Does anyone here have experiences and/or good advice to share about what to do in case that?

I used to meet 2 dogs without 1 leg. One of them was malamut and the other was black terrier. The malamut ran beside a cycle.
The terrier was OK, as well. Here is a photo, unfortunaltely very low quality.
