Hello Sue &Andy, Just poped in to say hi. I have only just goined EX/ Setters and finding my way around, I have just got my P/C and enjoying every bit of it.I was wondering how my girl is( Kandy ) It seems so long since I judged her .I am glad that I gave her her 1st,C.C. That day was my birthday, what a nice present eh! I dont know if you knew that I lived in Durban during the war? A very diffrent place then to what it is now. I hope all is well with you Best wishes PAT

Glad to hear from you.
I am busily compiling a book about Setters in SA. With your experience, I am sure that you would have tonnes of information! May I convince you to part with some of your Kennel history and breed knowledge, please?
I would love to hear more about your successes, and see pictures of your Irish.
I have a bitch out of Oakdales right now, also based in WP - she is such a wonderful character and unbelievably intelligent (aka quite a handful at times)!
Once owned by an Irish Setter, always an enthusiast, in my personal opinion.

Welcome Vanessa, if you visit My Page on here you will see that I am a breeder and exhibitor and have been for 28 years.
We have not shown extensively in SA, and I have not shown for quite some time because of hip problems, which now after surgery 1 year ago, has been resolved. After 2 years absent, I attended Kennel Association, Cape Town, where Dawn gained her 2nd CC and RBOB, and Monique RCC. Kandy our UK SH.CH. is also SA Champion, achieving this after attending just 5 shows as did my Cocker Spaniel CH.Sumaric Sunburst, who was 5 years old when attending her first show in SA, in 2004.

I, too, am a South African owned by Irish Setters.
I suspect we are at opposite ends of teh country as I do not seem to have run into you at Dog Shows (should you be an exhibitor).
