Chantal, I was prompted to take this photo because of the forum discussion 'Bitchy Dog / Doggy bitch' and there are various views expressed there. In te UK there is no size limit ofr Irish Setters but in Ireland & the FCI countries Blaze would definitely be too big, lovely as he is;-)) All his siblings were quite big but he was always the biggest, from the very beginning... and Reba is from small parents and is probably the smallest from the litter. So you see, I have bith extremes together for the photo! BTW Reba is by no means the smallest setter I have seen, not by far!

:-)  no problem with the typing, our brain re-organise it for us  :-)  Really this ES website is fantastic, the things I am learning with you all is incredible, I am so grateful for that. Thanks so much Susan, I wasn't aware of setters size limit in Ireland ...  :-(  better start to read the rules for both UK and Ireland in my case.

Chantal, go to www.irishredsetterclub.com for the standard for Ireland ! UK doesnt have a height standard!! I dont think Mac will be too big anyway;o)) He looks right for his age for now;o)

Yes training is important ... but having an assistant to control doggies might be the trick for me to try as well :) Thanks
