Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
I entered our boy "Guiness" to two shows in Bosnia last weekend. His sister "Luna" was also entered, but her owners realised at the last moment that their passports were nowhere to be found. So "better luck next time" and we were off. Not a long trip, under 300 km, but with the Friday traffic it took us more than 4 hours. We were stuck in traffic jams, waited on the borders... The weekend certainly did not start well.
Saturday morning looked rather grim - very cloudy, a few raindrops. But luckily it cleared and we had great weather all weekend - 25 degrees and sunny. Venue was very nice, plenty of parking, but could be more shade. Our hotel was excellent and only about 1 km from the show grounds. The first look around showed that there were some excellent dogs entered. Judge on first day was Mr Radovan Mazalica from Bosnia, for second day our judge changed and we now had Mrs Sanja Vretenicic from Monte Negro. Guiness picked up CAC's on both days and became a BiH Ch M'Eudail Take That. Not bad for he is only 19 months old.
BOB both days was Multi Ch O'Ceallaigh's Yolookatme, picking up his 97th and 98th BOB. He was RBIS on Saturday BIS going to a beautiful American Cocker bitch from Germany Ch Numisma's Keepsake.
Sunday we had to pick up our Champion certificates and that prooved to be quite a task. We waited more than 3 hours in the sun while the organisers were searching for the right papers. We took off straight after that, but I hear that "Mogwai" repeated his Saturday result and was again RBIS. I expected bad traffic jams and it took us almost 6 hours to come home (for less than 300 km remember!!!!).
