Last training weekend for this "winter"

The weather here in the northern part of Finland is changing fast to warm spring/summer to catch up with the rest of the world . The meteorological changes here up north are tremendously fast. This weekend the 26.-27.4. we still had the best conditions ever to train with our dogs. Today the 28.4. now as I´m writing this the warmth wave cought up with us so all the snow has started to melt.

Some pictures of our dreamy weekend

He was quite a character :) I was able to take quite a few pictures of him. Our dogs watched him closely and calmly on our sledge :)

No dear Henk :) Our transportation on the snowy high mountain is a snow scooter or is it skidoo? And the skidoo pulls a sledge it looks like this...me and the winter-transport-to-mountains ;)

Petra the snow covers the northern Finland(lappland) usually till the end of April or the beginning of May. This winter we had a lot of snow so it is still a questionmark when the snow will melt away totally.
I suspect that I can show you pictures taken in the end June where there still can be snow somewhere up in the mountains. We´ll see...

The rest of Finland (south of) is already bathing in summery weather. Finland is a long country . You experiece all kind of weather in one day if you´re lucky :-)

Dear Katariina,
Thank you very much for the geographical and enviromental lesson. I'm sorry not have been visited your country yet but maybe once I will have the possibility. The only thing that doesn't attract me are the long dark days in wintertime (if I don't err) it could be so depressing.
rgds, petra
