Well, after our morning apointment at the vet with Pitanga, we decided that the nodule she has in her ear has to come out, so next week is surgery week for my girl.

After a long conversation we decided that she will also be neutered. She has had these nodules before and after last heat there was a very suspicious looking nodule in one of her mammary glands.

He love Pitanga to much to be risking her health for the joy of another litter. We had a litter planned for this summer, but that will be postponed until Romã is ready to step in as our breeding bitch.

For now we are just worried about Pitanga and hoping she will have a quick recovery from the surgery next week. Hopefully now there will be no more nodules and Pitanga will be able to get back to her normal life.

I'm sad about not having any more puppies from Pitanga, since I really like the outcome of the first litter, but I love her too much to be this worried with every heat she has. No litter can possibly worth more than my beautiful girl living a long healthy life.

Always difficult when you have to make these decisions but you're absolutely right - another litter just doesn't measure up against a long and happy life shared with your girl.

Very sad news indeed, but Pitanga health should come first. Good luck with the operation next week and a huge cuddle from me to your beautiful stunning Pitanga!!!  One for Roma too of course  :-)

Sorry to hear about Pitanga's 'problems' you know, these dogs are so very resilient, I hope that all works out well for her, and you, good luck with the surgery...I am sure that she will be fine....

The very best decison for your girl - may she live long and happy and always be your companion. My girl had a small mammary tumour and so it was resected and she too was speyed. Ruby is on top form and her coat with regular grooming using a king comb looks fab. Good luck

Hoping all goes well and Pitanga is soon bouncing around again.  Never easy to have them have surgery so hugs to you and keep us all updated on how you all are doing.
