AN ENGLISH SETTER PAGE FROM THE AMHURST ARCHIVES

Happily, we have had our lives turned upside down, with a ball of orange belton joy, who we have named "Hattie," short for "Hattitude!" Special thanks to Jo and Matt in New Zealand, and a page will be dedicated to Hattie, just as soon as the photographs permit.

For Now, though, some photos of our past English Setters, including our gorgeous tri colour, Suntop Shining Berry Imp UK) and the beautiful International Sh Ch Suntop Winterbreeze, a dog behind some of ours after we used him at stud, as well as through his half brother, who was here at Amhurst, Suntop Summerthrush (Imp UK)

Ch Amhurst Soames is in the top photo, followed by Shining Berry, and Twomey is playing with baby Shining Berry, who is also looking gorgeous staring in to the camera in the sitting pose. Wonderful dogs, and so many happy memories.

Lovely photos. Also thank you for your kind comment about Hobson. He was bred by Jean Preece (Pamploma) in Tasmania. Hobson's lines are a combination of Pamploma and Tybryn - both wonderful bloodlines and it is a real shame the lines are dying out. Hobson's Pamploma lines go back to NZ Gr Ch Aus Ch Pamploma Chilworth Lad (William). Bandit was the son of William. Jean sent me the photos of William and some of the dogs she has bred and was thrilled when I asked her if I could display them. She also gave me a silver medallion on which is inscribed 'Supreme Show Dog Contest' with a blue ribbon William won in 1988, the year Bandit was born. This little silver medallion will always mean a great deal to me, and my heart will always be with English Setters. Even though I have never been interested in breeding, I have tried to show an English Setter twice but on both occasions unfortunately it was not meant to be.
