Dora on her 15th birthday

Do you remember Dora http://irishsetters.ning.com/profiles/blogs/dora-on-her-14th-birthday ?

well today she is 15 years old !!

Since Dora's last birthday, she had what started as a mammary lump which the vet said we would leave alone because of her age, but it grew aggressively, the vet thought she would not survive the surgery and that the tumour would probrably continue to grow and would reach the point when the skin around it would break open and I would then have to make the decision! Well the worst did happen and the tumour grew to the size and shape of a mango and the skin did break. So I took her back to the vet and said I had made the decision - we have nothing to loose, operate and remove the tumour and lets hope she survives the operation. Well as you can see Dora made a full recovery and is really well!

She truly is a remarkable girl. She comes for our walk with the rest of the team every day and is team spokesgirl if dinner is not on time

We will have her birthday party this afternoon and as last year
